So if you're will to cut the floor to fit that b body tranny in (because of shift location, why not just install a 6 speed and gain over drive gears?

If youre keeping it an auto than go with the GM 200R4, no cutting the floor to make it fit and its all HYD to operate.

Better off with a 6 speed conversion.

The gl5 is an additive for the limited slip unit in the rear end. 80w90 will be just fine. Personally I'd use 80w90 full syn if has just been fully rebuilt with new gaskets.
