Thanks Killer6. I used red and I'm going to finish in green pad. It took a lot to get the crap off. Now onto the freaking lifters... have minor nicks on the sides of some and maybe 5 of 8 have nicks on the bottom. Idk how long these sat,but the "oil, lube", whatever you want to call it, is...

Will do. I took a straight edge metal ruler and laid a lifter on it. I could see it's concave and I can't verify completely, but I swear I could see taper on the lobes... probably just wishful thinking..lol
