I have a 2000 Ram 1500 with a 5.2

Has anyone here had luck adding a performance chip to their Ram truck. I see the chips offer more horse power and gas mileage. If you have used a chip and were pleased with the results I would like to hear your feedback.What name brand and mpg improvement? Thanks,JIm

I would stay away from Hughes garbage...

I always use high temp copper RTV with my header gaskets works great.

OK OK besides a cam,carb,intake.I would also go with a small stall and 355 gear to make it move a bit quicker.Now please do not beat me with a wet noodle. Jim

I would get the timing dialed in before you change the termostat.It may run cooler once the timing is right. Jim

Plugs won't make it diesel?Inferior or improper plugs will make it diesel.Although I would check the timing first.Then I would make sure and run good fuel and it would not hurt to dump some additive in your fuel tank to help clean the carbon off your pistons and valves.Then if it still diesels...

A Comp Cams High Enery cam may work better for what you have.HE cams are made for 10:1 comp or less,and work well with most stock components.Your best bet is to just call Comp Cams Tech line. Jim

You should call the Cam manufacter and order the springs that go with the cam. When you install a new cam you should also install new springs as well. Jim

I would guess 450 HP.If you go with big tube headers and some head work maybe 500 HP.I would go with more card and gear.850 and 391's or 410's.If you have a high volume oil pump you better get a deep pan.If not you will suck the pan dry and wipe out the bearings...

No thanks I have a 383 Dart I took out the 456's and put in 391's so I can drive it on the street..

I had 391 gear in my Coronet drove all the way from Central Illinois to Columbus OH to the Nats.Didn't bother me a bit...Drove from MI to IL in a 69 1/2 with 410 drove it 65-70 all the way home.
