Shorten the Dana. You will need the wheel backspace measurement and the tire overall sidewall width and the drum/disc flange thickness, first, to figure out your axle flange to axle flange measurement.

All the internals can be used from small to big block, so if you find a case with the correct bolt pattern you can build one from the one you have including the tailshaft housing.

X2 I have noticed Dana 60's sounding noisier when changing from a thick oil to a thin oil (synthetic). Higher static viscosity's have insulating properties. just like if you use a paint stir in a drill, you will get two different noises between mixing water and mixing laytex paint.

If you have an hour run time without atf in the pump, a seized front bushing is very likely.

Did you fill the TC before installing? Could just be air bound if pump is dry. If you have not pulled the pan yet try to rig up some way to put pressurized atf in to the front cooler line port.

It will bolt up but the convertor or flexplate will need to be changed for balance reasons. We need a picture of that driveshaft!
