    Would or Wouldnt cut

I trimmed mine off with a cut off wheel. The outer and inner fenders are seam welded at the very outside edge where it turn under the car, so if you go to close you risk separating them. I got a little to close in one section but it hasn't caused any problems. I have a Eastwood roller and it...

Viper wheels on my '69 Dart

I like the protouring style look. I in fact have a set of 18" rims for my dart if I feel like putting them on. I was going to step up to 20" outback with the 18" up front but haven't brought my self to drop the coin on the 20" With that said I personally think the viper rims are a tad too...

    ET vs Backspacing!

Positive offset moves the mounting flange out whatever mm the offset is. So 25mm moves the mounting flange out 1" roughly (25.4mm to 1"). In turn that adds roughly 1" to the backspace. Now you can overcome positive backspace with spacers to a point depending how far you what to push it on...

    ET vs Backspacing!

When they refer to the width of the rim they are referring to the mid section of the rim not including the channel edge that holds the tire bead lock. The channel is usually a 1/2" more to the rim each side. So a 8 " rim is really 9", 9" rim is really 10" and so on. Back space is measured...

    ET vs Backspacing!

We Americans use the same measurement but we refer it as offset. Any wheel you are interested in should have a supplied offset accompanied with a Backspace measurement. Most tend to only use or pay attention to the backspace number because it is easier for most to understand. Below I...

    Gotta get that stance!

Don't let the wheel selection throw you off. 15s out back 17's up front. but the car does lean forward. when I get it back out of storage in the spring I plan to lower the front a little more like 1/4". I have a little adjustment left on my torsion bars.

    68 Valiant with new shoes!

Very nice. Good choice, great looking car. I debated on these when I was shopping for new rims. I settled on the regular Race Stars because I could not find any good pictures of those on a car at the time.

    longer wheel studs

Those are direct bolt lugs meaning the mounting surface to the nut is machined flat. They are required for a direct bolt rims. I'm not aware if all welds are a direct bolt wheel. You need to have the correct type. Cronical through bolt lug----->...

Tallest tire fitment on rear of Scamp

Well here it is. I still needs to roll the fenders. Have figured out how I'm going to do that. I own a Eastwood fender roller but it does not work with the dart fenders since they over lap the tire like they do. The front still needs to settle a little. the car hasn't been moved so the...

Tallest tire fitment on rear of Scamp

Yea right now Im in the process of installing offset hangers to get everything to fit. That has certainly been a bigger job then originally thought. But its getting there. Tallest tire fitment on rear of Scamp

Got one of the 275/60-15 Nitto DR555's Mounted on a rim and on the car. Had to oder offset hangers kit because it is touching the spring. Im still going to make it fit. You can see the front of the tire is not an issue at all on the front corner of the fender. Everything is tight for sure, May...

    That modern look....

Rear tire on. Had to order offset springs hangers because the tire is touching the spring. May have to also roll the fender lip a little. But cant wait to get it down. The tire will be tucked slightly more than it sits on stands. Going from a 25.5" to 28" tire it can come down a little to keep...

Tallest tire fitment on rear of Scamp

As you can see I barely have 1/8th inch on either side of the tire but I should be able to clearance the fender lip and trim a little bit. In the pictures above the car is sitting about an inch higher than it needs to because the 275/60-15 is about an inch higher than my current 245/40-18's So...

Tallest tire fitment on rear of Scamp

Holy tire Batman. This is a tight fit. I still dont know if its going to fit but I think I may give it a try. It is really close to the fender but I think I maybe able to trim it enough to gain clearance. The springs are tight as well but as long as I can get the right backspace to not touch...
