I’m sort of thinking along the same lines. The reason I’m interested in using a neon box is because I plan to swap an SRT4 engine into my 67 Valiant, so I may as well use the rest of the A/C system as well.

Did you ever find a suitable donor? Thinking about doing something like this in my 67 valiant whenever I start that project.

Primary use for my car will be a driver/street car as well. I’m running a 5 speed, the first gear is low enough that running 2.76’s is equivalent to running a 9.04 with 4.10s. I prefer a decent lope but performance is more important.

I’m running a Chinese knockoff air gap and a carb in my Duster. Trailbeast is running a .214/.224, 110 LSA, .512 lift in his dart but he said he thinks he’d go with a .224/.244 setup if he had it to do over. The rest of his engine setup is very similar to mine.

Are you happy with it? Would you use it again or go bigger? I’ve been thinking about going with a 224/244, 110 LSA, and .512 lift.

I checked into that on posts 71-73 of this thread and as you can see, the van compressor doesn’t gain you any room (in the problem area) over the pickup compressor.

@RAMM would you recommend this cam for a bone stock 5.9 magnum longblock with a Chinese airgap? Or would you recommend something else? I was looking at heads last night and I wouldn’t be apposed to putting a set of speedmaster aluminum heads on in the future but that’d probably be a year or two...

Looks like my Duster sits a decent amount lower than your car so I might move the trunk floor up 1-3” in order to not have the tank hang down as low
