Thats the only pump I had an issue with also and Ive run a bunch of eddy carbs. I usually use either the Carter street pump or a stock replacement

Demo sizzler doesnt do any plating. If you want it to look new Scott Harms is your guy. I believe he gets $400 for a 4bbl carb.

I would skip the reman. If he wants a T-quad on it pick up a used on and send it to Harms Auto to have him go through it.

Give it more then 7 minutes. I believe they are one of the better single plane street intakes but you would probably be better off with a dual plane.

Rob its not $800, Its $400 for a 4bbl. $800 is for a pair of carbs for a dual quad set up. These also arent performance builds, these are restored stock carbs. You send him your core he restores it to OE standards and sends it back. Whats a new Holley or Edelbrock run ?

Scott does great work and the carbs come back like brand new, replated correctly all the correct parts and its $399. You pay half up front and the other half when its done. Or you can buy the Summit/Holley reman with its black painted hardware and take it apart to make sure its not screwed up...

I tried a number of carbs on my old 340. It was pretty mild. Not sure of the cam but I would guess it was in the 225* @.050" range, LD340 intake, Headers, recurved distributor, Mopar Performance heads (LA castings) and unknown compression. It has a 600 Edelbrock on it when I bought the car...

They will work with either manifold and the have a 725cfm coming out.

Yes the summit thermoquads are just remand by Holley. Ive heard a few people that had ok luck with them but they had some mismatched parts inside, Wrong jets etc.

With that cam I wouldnt expect it to idle right away on a cold day even with a choke.

The dual snorkels were 383 and 440 4bbls only. No 340s used them.

Looks like your average open element air cleaner painted black to be. Ive taken chrome ones and painted them black in the past and the are the right size for a pie tin.

If your not going to run the original carb why not put and Edelbrock 600 on it with an electric choke ? IT will look more correct then the thermoquad will

The ones with the Chrysler part number were sold over the counter at dealerships. Ones with out were sold by edelbrock.

They are good intakes, Only bad part is theres no place to mount the coil. Ive never heard of there being 2 port sizes for them but you never know Thats because its an LD340 which was for the 340/360 heads. His is an LD4B which is 318 port size

has it been ported ? Did you check it against a 318 intake gasket ?

The newer Mopar Perf. distributor are very tunable. Or you could pick up a MSD distributor.

You will need an adapter to run the Eddy. Why not send your Thermoquad to Harms Auto to get restored ? The 71 T-Quad is a rare piece so hold on to it.
