    oil pressure disappeared.

I had a pickup break at the threads and the oil pressure was lower at first then bounced around. I shut it off, I was at the track. It wasn’t broken completely off, but broke completely when I moved it around removing the pan. The oil pickup tube was from 440 source, 440 source sells some really...

    Big Block Swap

The only drawback with a 383 compared to a 400 or 440 is some after market head manufacturers like trickflow recommend their heads be used on 4.32 or larger bore diameter. One advantage of a big block is you can make 600+ horsepower more easily with a lower compression and run pump gas. Don’t...

    M-1 single plane intake on a 440 [ not a stroker ].

The Dart has a Dana S track with 4.10 gears a 3.15. 60/15 tires around 29 inches in Diameter, it ran 9.89 shifting at about 6,200 and going through the lights at 6,300 we backed it off to do 10.1. Thats with a 512 in it now when the 440 stock stroke engine was in it it had 3.91 gears and did...

    M-1 single plane intake on a 440 [ not a stroker ].

I have an M1 on a stock stroke 440 engine with Trick flow 240 heads and a comp cams x284xs I believe 520/541…244/252…..1.6 rockers with a Holley 950. I have innovate a/f sensor in both collectors and the A/F ration is very even on both sides. This engine has 10.5 compression and is very Street...

440 roller cam conversion parts list.

The taper on a flat tapped lifters keep the cam from traveling forward or back, but a roller lifter has no taper. I run a solid roller cam in a street strip car and I used the nylon button to get about .005 travel on the cam. I have been told some cams will try to travel so hard they will...

440 roller cam conversion parts list.

It’s up to you, but I don’t think there is much point using a roller cam with 915 heads , especially if you drive it on the street. You could sell the 915s and get a set of 240 trick flows then if you wanted to go to a larger cam you wouldn’t compromise it. I have a stock displacement 440 that...

440 roller cam conversion parts list.

You didn’t say what size roller cam, but the 915 heads are likely to become the bottleneck. I would spend the money on some aftermarket heads like Trick Flow 240s and then if you used a roller cam you wouldn’t be choking it off.

Which solid roller lifter for street use

I have isky Red Zone Max with edm option. My Cam is 646 lift 264/270 @.050. Most bracket , but we do drive it on the street. The lifter seem to be working fine, I adjust them about once a month, but I am on the gear a year plan. They are insanely expensive though, no needle bearing.

    Replacing 273 with a 440 in a Barracuda

I used a Lokar throttle pressure cable and a Lokar tramission dipstick. I tried a Hughes dipstick and a stock dipstick tube, but Lokar worked best. The Lokar throttle pressure cable makes that part easy. Like I said I wished I had made the DC type K member where the engine sat 1/2 forward from...

    Replacing 273 with a 440 in a Barracuda

I changed the original 273 in my 69 Dart to a 440. I got a later spool type k frame and made a K member. The K members were sold by Direct Connection but the instructions on how to make one is in the tech section of Big Block Dart. If I did it again I would move the engine forward 1/4 to 1/2 an...
