    COOLING SYSTEM PROBLEM FIXED

Just an FYI. Back when OEM electric fans first came out. There were several car models, that had a fan on temp setpoint of 230-240 degrees, and would turn off about 210

    Hemi Swap standard AC

I'm not sure what compressor is used on the 6.4 What year is the engine? With a lot of swaps, the only thing that needs being done is mounting the compressor (correct compressor for the engine is best), Making new hoses (if the ends don't match the compressor), and connecting the wiring to the...

Anyone try or know someone who has tried this?

Just a FYI: Back about 20 years ago, GE and Sanden did a joint project with a variable speed electric compressor, and a totally sealed system, (like a window unit). The idea at that time was to prevent freon leaks, from hoses, and a rotating compressor shaft seal. The complete unit would fit...

Anyone try or know someone who has tried this?

The compressor is rated at 8900 BTU, but the evap is rated about 32000 btu. That is a big mismatch. Need one heck of a electrical system. From the specs published at start up need almost 85 amps. Running about 45 amps.

For Those Who've Swapped RV2 For Sanden Compressors...

The York compressor has the possibility of several different fittings. Flair, "O" ring, Tube "O" ring, rotolock. Need to know which fitting are on your hoses. As you have seen, the sanden compressor has many different rear heads, for different hose connections.

For Those Who've Swapped RV2 For Sanden Compressors...

Actually all those compressors are reciprocating type. The difference is in the "firing" order. The Chrysler is a 2 cyl V configuration. Think like a Harrly/Davidson engine (uneven firing order) The York/Tecumseh is a 2 cyl with a even firing order. (every 180 degrees) the Sanden, and Chrysler...

    Clutch cycling switch

The clutch cycling sw controls the minimum evap temp, to as stated, prevent evap freeze up. The low pressure sw (on the drier, if my memory is correct) will cut off the compressor, if the refrigerant is too low. This protects the compressor from failure due to lack of oil. If it were my vehicle...

    A body radiators

I used the Champion CC63DT in my 64 Valiant 170 slant six. It fit perfect. Can't comment on the cooling, yet. Nothing more than about 20 mile trips at this time. However only a 170 with very mild mods except it is 9.5 CR. So I don't foresee problems.

    ARA Air Conditioning Unit

"Back in the day", there were many companies that sold AC kits. In the 80's and 90's even many manufacturers had kits available for dealer installation. I used to go to the local Mitsubishi and Datsun dealers one or two days a week, and do their AC kit installs on new vehicles. Most could be...

Thanks, Bill Rear window is out, and pinchweld repaired. Going to install insulation and the headliner to about the middle of the car. Reinstall the rear window. Then remove the windshield, and repair the pinchweld area. Then complete the headliner, and new windshield install.

    Slant Six AC Bracket

I have a question. Since we know the engine/car combo is not possible, we also don't know the year/model of the compressor/brackets. Are you sure it is a sanden compressor, and not a c-171 compressor? Can you post any pictures of the compressor and/or brackets? PS: If the vehicle had any factory...

ANY AUTOMOTIVE AC EXPERTS OUT THERE? I'VE GOT PROBLEMS..........

With out digging deeper, and I really don't have time for that, some vehicles have a "fail safe" mode. If the computer sees, values from switches/sensors that don't make sense, it will turn the fans on. Question: is there a shraeder valve in the port for the switch? If there is, then no need to...

ANY AUTOMOTIVE AC EXPERTS OUT THERE? I'VE GOT PROBLEMS..........

I would have to look up that particular vehicle, but in general a trinary switch performs 3 functions. 1) shuts off the compressor if the refrigerant charge (pressure) is excessively low. 2) shuts off the compressor if the system pressure is too high 3) turns on the cooling fans when the system...

    A/C help.

I can't say about state laws, so that is entirely possible. I was talking about federal law. I haven't looked lately, but if 134 is outlawed by state law, I wonder what refrigerant is legal to use in those states in place of 134. The EPA has a list of approved refrigerants

    A/C help.

R-134 is not outlawed. Just can't be used in OEM NEW cars. Can still be used for retrofit from R-12, and to service R134 vehicles. Come on Bill. You must own stock in Duracool the way you keep promoting it. It does work, but personally, I wouldn't use it, and if a vehicle came in my shop with it...

    Troubleshooting help needed-AC pressures

Are you saying the duct temp is 40 degrees? What are you complaining about. Most auto air systems will have a temp difference of 20-30 degrees between the intake air, and the discharge air. Outside air temp and humidity will make a difference. 40 degree discharge is a good safe temp. Anything...

    Compressors

R-134a is not being "outlawed". It is just been discontinued on new vehicles. There is no prohibition on using it in vehicles that originally had R-134a or R-12. Also there is NO approved substitute for R-134a. ALL compressor manufactures will void their warranty, if using any refrigerant, other...
