    What Year Valve Cover?

... and the disadvantage of looking decent only from a few feet back. Up close they're pretty lame castings, only partially polished with just a few passes over the buffer and no attention to the deep scratches first, and a lot of work to clean up.

    What Year Valve Cover?

That sure looks familiar lol!!! It will to our beloved @memike too I'm sure. I'm flattered you chose some of my work doc. For what it's worth, whatever you find out there can BE blue. << grin >> This is how that one you posted up there started out ... ... and how it left my shop.

    Slant Intakes

Actually the yellow inset on the fab guy's logo is the only powder on it Dan. The rest of the manifold was shot in high temp ceramic that WILL stand up to exhaust heat. Only time and track runs will show both its owner and me whether the cosmetic yellow will hold up too.

    Slant Intakes

Ohhhhh it's not! It's for a FABO member's wife's Slant 6 race car. I'm sure Andrew will chime in with the details when he sees this thread. I have no idea what his handle is on here so I can't tag him.

    Slant Intakes

Just got this finished up for a customer / fellow FABO member, and it was delivered on Thursday. No one has seen one like this! I'm anxious to see what kind of times he gets with it.

    Who's Good At Reading Plugs?

There's a cool Spark Plug Diagnostics chart inside the back cover of old Chiltons manuals. Maybe new ones too -- I haven't looked lately.

    Damsel in distress

:happy1: This "battle of the sexes" stuff is bordering on amusing ... but let's not offend our new lady. Remember gentlemen, we all had to start somewhere; some just got an earlier start than others and/or had on-site mentors.

    Damsel in distress

Hmmm, I got a Facebook friend request from Molly McPherson and then added her to the Mopar Trader Page. :-D. Oops ... guess that's what I get for assuming. LOL!!!!

    Custom Slant Valve Covers

John, aside from a pair of FirePowers for thansen here on FABO, the only other Hemi valve covers I've had the pleasure to work on were two pairs of brand new KBs for the same customer. One set is on his front engine dragster and the other is on his '64 Polara. Thank you very much...

Cleaning a Clifford Valve Cover Question

Hey Hyper, that's in great shape! You could do pretty much anything you want with that and not have too much trouble by the looks of it. Have you thought about a color scheme for the engine bay? Thanks for the pic and mention too Dartman! I can't wait to see that installed with those...

Cleaning a Clifford Valve Cover Question

... or at a minimum cause some damage, absorption into the aluminum (which will always be there unless you heat it out) and really screw up any proposed paint job you have in mind. Thanks for the mention Pish. :-D You have a new Thanks.

    Slant 6 Valve cover gasket.?????

Every Slant 6 valve cover I've gotten in here to restore has needed the gasket rail straightened. When you have the valve cover off, lay it flat and make sure nothing is prohibiting it from sealing properly. Regardless of what gasket you have, it'll never stop leaking if it doesn't fully mate...

I have had a few members ask

Wow Mike, that's terrific! :-D I was surprised to learn it was Bruce's too. Even finding out after it was already out of my hands didn't make it any less special though. I'm honored to know I helped a little bit in letting a small part of his legacy live on. :prayer: RIP Bruce ...

    Are they all like this?

Not fun??? Oh pish, I have to disagree with you there baby. All you need is a set of carbide burrs with wide teeth and an air grinder or Dremel and they'll eat through aluminum like it's nobody's business. Well ... I guess it IS my business anyhow. :-D I can debur an intake almost as fast...

Ohhhhhhhhh boooooo hisssssss!!!! :-D My first car was a '69 Impala with a 396 and a four speed. It's EXACTLY what every 16 year old girl needs to turn into a die hard motorhead for life. But that's just me. < grin >
