Finally got my 62 Lancer running. Bought the car completely disassembled. 71 low miles motor I got last winter.Budget build, hopefully turbo.

I checked my oil, it smells a little like gas not strong though. I just changed the oil and added Lucas zinc additive before this problem. (Oil change with 0 miles)!

Ive been experiencing a lot of trouble getting my slant to start, My question is could I be causing damage to the engine by cranking to much, Ive had a lot of short cranking spurts to check spark etc. Gas not being a great lubricant worries me as Ive never had to try this many times to start.

No start, I put a little oil in each cylinder maybe to much plugs covered in oil, had spark at the tester. Not much time today try again tomorrow.

Im getting ready to start a slant I bought about a year ago It was running driving. I never tried checking oil prime by cranking with starter and looking for oil at rockers before so I tried. I cranked it over with no plugs but did not see oil at the rockers. I cranked for about 20 seconds or...
