Question for the team. Looking at buying a hauler that has a slant 6 833 4 speed with OD. Can I mate the trans to a 440 drilled for a 4 speed by changing bell housing? What else would I need to address?

Had a similar issue on my 72. I had my wife drive behind me and observe. Everything is new, including custom rims by wheel Vintiques. Turns out the tire with Wobble was a bent rim issue. Straightened and spin balanced..no issues.

Got em both. Love my 904 in the 74. Still dealing with tuning TQ converter and rear gears in the 72 so the jury is still out for me on the 727. I honestly feel like I want another 3 gears now. Having an 8 speed behind my hemi in my truck spoiled me rotten.

Great thread. My buddy damn near killed himself two weeks ago when the 727 let go. Shrapnel went forward of the firewall and cut the fuel line. Up in flames it went. Two weeks before that he took a tooth off the ring gear and fouled and axle. He rebuilt everything in the rear but never opened...

The guy that built the drivetrain in my 74 races cars. Said couldn't break the trans if I had to. Actually recommended I use the 904 over the 727.

I agree with bad sport. My 360 makes over 350HP and my rear does just fine. I would think about that ratio if you are planning highway cruising, but if you are running to a cruise in or the strip you are ok.
