The guys on this board are trying to help you solve your cooling problem. Invest in a high quality fan. You need to move more air through that radiator. Try Jegs or Summit. My earlier suggestion won't help much, unless you move more air through that thing.

Try a 50/50 solution of anti freeze and distilled water. One bottle of water wetter. Water wetter works best with water. The more anti freeze the less effective it is.

Tap the hose inlet and outlet nipples on the engine, then use a pipe plug with allen type head, then replace hoses.

Install a temp gauge.

I run a small amount of anti freeze and water wetter. Distilled water is also a good idea. Theoretically an engine should run cooler. Although as stated earlier it won't help a chronic over heating problem.

What is the best way to get a leak proof seal between the thermostat housing and aluminum intake? I've always had trouble with this. I'm installing a billet aluminum housing w/ O-ring this time around. Just wondered if anyone has had any success with this troublesome area. Thanks in advance.

Just my two cents worth. The fan you show in the photo (in my opinion) is to close to the radiator. Being that close it can't effectively draw air through the radiator. It should sit back a bit more. If your flex fan works sitting back at 2 1/2 inches, there's your problem. I had the same...

How did you check the thermostat after you pulled over? I would change the stat to a 160. How much anti freeze are you running? Water alone will boil. Just some questions that's all.

You could paint a radiator any color, blue, green, yellow, black, or leave it brass. It really doesn't matter. The dominant mechanism of heat exchange of a car's radiator and the atmosphere is convection not radiation. It just does not get hot enough to radiate a lot of heat by radiation...

If the tanks are in decent condition, get it re-cored. Re-core especially if it's original to your car. JMO
