I've installed both types. Both have excellent customer service. The American auto wire kit is more "factory" with its connectors where the Ron Francis is more generic. Meaning the AAW kit uses the factory fuse block through the firewall where the RF kit does not.
i believe some people have had to grind some off of the stater or block for clearance. I have a magnum block and the starter i got for mine fit like a glove.

Note: Applications with an 10.5" flywheel 130-tooth ring gear must use a RobbMc Performance starter: 3005
You loosen the bolt on the distributor hold down then turn the distributor one way or the other to achieve the desired timing you want. But you are going to need a timing light.
My 70 Swinger came with a factory sweeping speedometer dash cluster. What are my options to replace this. Like will a rally dash fit in the same location without any mods?
