    Tips for the track?

Taking the clamps off lets the car anti squat and push the tire into the track. Clamps on the rear hinder the process. IMHO.

Let’s have a drag strip Christmas tree discussion

If the track is running auto start the tree starts from 1-7 seconds. Why a track starts a tree at the same time every run is beyond me.

Line Lock with Drum Brakes ?

Ceedawg said it. You have to smash the gas and get tire spinning. I prefer 2nd gear to start and shift to3rd.

Line Lock with Drum Brakes ?

Disc brakes would make it worse. Although they stop better they don’t hold better. What works for me is hitting the switch and pumping hard.

I hate the direction racing is heading

Here is a real *** kicker at my Friday night track. Instead of running buy backs to come back for round two, They run the buy backs, then first round winners and they all come back for round three. Now even the first round winners are forced to run an extra round and you get nothing extra...

    Scaling a stock suspension car.

If you have clamps on the rear of your springs they need to come off. Front section needs to be clamped.

    Scaling a stock suspension car.

With leaf springs the body should be separating and pushing the tires into the track but its wanting to pull it down. That a great time with 1.55 60ft though. Definitely a 9 second car with a 1.40ish 60. IMHO.
