    Green Axles.

Your 72 has green bearings with snap rings. The current 3.55 has no thrust button in it. I took it out. The 3.23 I gave you will work with Green bearings. I had it in a car that had them. 3.23s will be great in that car. 2.76s in that car and 3.18 is a dog. That is what was in the 7...

    Stupid Rear Axle Bearing Question.....

I am getting ready to build an 8 3/4 rear for my Dart. I have a very basic question and I feel stupid for having to ask....:sign3: Does the rear bearings lube by the differential lube or do they need to be packed? Does this apply to Green as well as tapered adjustable bearings? Thanks.....

Who all is Running a 200R4?

Who all is running a 200R4 in their cars? I have a DD 72 Dart that would really benefit from the overdrive and lock up. My car is a 318/904 that has a column shift. I have a few questions to those who have done this swap... 1. How do you like the tranny for your appication? 2. It is...

Rear change for BBP - What would you do?

I really appreciate everyones reply.... Getting lots of opinions on how to get to what you want is one of the good things about forums. Yeah, I guess I misspoke. I already have a classic driver the way it is.... I like mag wheels on these cars and to each his own i guess. I could go old...

Rear change for BBP - What would you do?

Thanks for all the good replies!!!!! Yeah there are many ways to skin this cat I guess...... If were going to be putting any serious upgrade in HP, then yes, the 8 3/4 rear would definitely be the way to go. But at the end of the day, this is not ever going to have anything in it but the 2...

Rear change for BBP - What would you do?

Another option: I could do the disk brake change in the front which will put me on a 4.5" pattern but then keep the 7.25 in the back but just run a 5 on 4" out back. There are serveral wheels that offer both 5x4.5 and 5x4 that I could choose from...... Would screw my spare stradety up...

Rear change for BBP - What would you do?

Yeah I know I will either have to cut my driveshaft or find another..... Thanks for the reminder though. If I could find a n 8 1/4 for $150 I would jump all over that....... What were the most common ratios in the 73-76 A-Body 8 1/4? Thanks for all the replies....

Rear change for BBP - What would you do?

As for the 8 3/4 B-Rear that I have, I don't have a chunk, just the housing and axles. I would need to get a chunk and add brakes. I would love to find a good 8 1/4 that was read to bolt in and run that someone had upgraded to an 8 3/4. What is a reasonalbe price for an 8 1/4 ready to run...

Rear change for BBP - What would you do?

I have just acquired a 72 Dart, 318, 904, 7 1/4 rear car that I am going to use as my daily driver. It will never be a hot rod, just a classic driver. It has front drum brakes and the SBP. I want front disk brakes (for obvious reasons) and the BBP for more choices in wheels for the car. I...

    Torque Converter! Opinions Please!!!

My dad's 68 barracuda convertible needs a new torque converter. I have sent the following to ACC and Dynamic to get their recommendations for a new converter. I feel that there are several on here with pretty close to the same set up as this car has and was wonder what you guys are using (brand...

    8 3/4 Help and Opinions?

I need some 8 ¾ rear help. I currently have a '741 case, 3.91 SG rear in my 69 cuda. It is currently a pretty hot 340, 4-speed but will eventually be a 416 stroker when I can afford a few more parts… This is a street car with street tires. I am in need of a new driveshaft and started...

    7 1/4 to 8 3/4 swap in A-body

Thanks for all the info..... I will elongate the holes..... This car currently is a 340/904/7.25 rear. So going to the 8 3/4 rear I will need about a 1 1/2 inch shorter driveshaft?

    7 1/4 to 8 3/4 swap in A-body

I have a complete 8 3/4 A-body rear that I will be swaping into a car that currently has a 7 1/4 rear. The one thing I am not sure about is the shock plates. Do I need 8 3/4 shock plates or will the 7 1/4 plates work?
