    904 sittin for a decade?

Went on youtube to find some videos and found these guys: Rebuilding 727 torqueflite 600hp part1 - YouTube They have 19 videos on youtube that basically takes you from beginning to end on building up a 727. They show you just about every step. I'm not a trans guy so I found it pretty...

    A833 identification

Looks like a pic I saw on craigslist, don't remember what are though. Tailshaft sure looks like an a-body, or maybe a truck.

This one isn't mine, but it looks just like it.

    Dart IRS

Track width would be a problem. I have a complete rear end out of a Magnum sitting on the garage floor and its 59" between the backing plates. The whole rear suspension drops out as a unit mounted on a X-frame with all the control arms intact so figuring out that geometry wouldn't be a...

    ____Driveshaft Question??

Heres a partial list of factory driveshaft specs, in case some needs it. I had a longer list in an excel spreadsheet, but had to shorten it, print it, scan it, and resize it before it could post it.

    Hurst Pro-Matic Shifters

I've used it in my 72 Duster with a bench seat and manual valve body 904. Never had any problems with it. Still have it in one of my storage containers back in Hawaii.

Also be prepared for the reconstuction of the floor and cross brace if you're going to put it into an abody.

    Slip yoke question

If you have them both side by side, the difference would be obvious. I just thought that you only had that one on hand.

    Slip yoke question

18 spline does refer to the Hemi input shaft. If the splines aren't even engaging you might have a 904 yoke. The 904 yokes are also available for the big (7290) u-joints.

    8 3/4 spool swap

Yep the spool will fit in either one. When I bought mine MW said it fit either one.

I have a Turbo Action 4200 and I am really happy with it. I even used to run it on the street with no problem. Just make sure you use a good (large) cooler.

Quickest member here with 727 ?

If you need help with anything for the Mopars at the Strip, let me know. I'm moving there next Thursday. I'm also helping the Mopar club in Hawaii set up a club trip to the Mopars at the Strip, and a couple of them will be in the market for a tranny real soon. They've been leaning towards the...

Quickest member here with 727 ?

Hey Chris you gonna do any 904's? I've been thinking about getting a new trans with the low band apply for awhile now, but the shipping to Hawaii has always been the limiting factor. Since I'll be moving to Vegas and hope to have all my cars here by summer, I might be able to do it. I've been...

    904/727 swap

The 727 is longer so you will need a new driveshaft, even if you get the short shaft 727 like Ray described the yokes are different. The 727 uses the same yoke as the 833 and uses the 7290 u-joint.

    8 3/4 cut down

I had thanksgiving dinner with some friend here in Vegas. As soon as I get all moved and settled in here I'll figure out when I can get down to AL. Maybe you could come up here for Mopars at the Strip. Or maybe for the **** Convention :D

    8 3/4 cut down

If you want to go with the offset hanger and shackle, I got an extra set. I might also have the shock mount. I'll know for sure when I get back to Hawaii on the 3rd. Since you already have the set of axles from Brett, you should just go that route for now. When you get the extra money saved...

    8 3/4 cut down

The 7 1/4 only has 2 1/2" axle tubes and the 8 3/4 uses 3" so you will need the shock mounting plates. Since you're going to have to cut it and get new axles, you might as well go a couple inches narrower. You could also go with the spring relocation or offset hangers if you don't want to cut...

    Hurst Floor Shifter Q's

The reverse patterns are for trans that have a reverse manual valve body. So the answer would be yes you need the forward pattern. If you ever change the valve body to a reverse manual, they usually see a reverse gate plate you can change in the shifter.

    what gear/converter combo???

I keep forgetting that I'm on an island and almost never have to drive more than 10 miles to get anywhere  I used my Duster as a daily driver for awhile running 4.56 gears with L60-15's. It's really common for guys here to be running around with 4.10 gears in their daily driver.

    what gear/converter combo???

With that 509 cam you'll need what Adam suggested. I was going to suggest the same 4.30 gears with a 9" converter....whats half an inch :D

I'd just run them. The heat from filling the hole might make the metal brittle.
