    air fuel wideband guages

mine went to 1.0 lambda and just stayed there w/o adjustment. if you're in Stoic, i'd guess it would be 14.7 and never change, but i'm guessing.

    air fuel wideband guages

X2 for aem. I love mine. And the replacement O2 sensors are easy to find, and inexpensive. I was good for about every 2 years in race gas. Haven't changed one since I went e85. I like that they can read lambda, and have a spare face for it too.

    Fuel Cell Size?

never thought i would see the day when i didn't have to use a fan! i think i turned it on twice all summer.

    Fuel Cell Size?

I took the foam out. for as nasty as E85 is on components, I figured it would turn that to sludge lol I've been having pretty good luck with the Lucas E85 additive as far as carbs gumming up and such, but i make it a point to start it twice a month minimum, and get it to 200 degrees. Which...

    Fuel Cell Size?

i drive it around town. no long distances. If i drove it much more i'd want a 20 gallon for sure. But i'm also E85...which burns a ton more than pump gas.

10% Ethanol will not start……no fire??

Just to be clear... you can turn your pump on, build pressure, then.....pump it 15 times, physically watch the acc pump squirter shoot fuel into the intake, and it still won't start? Are your float levels full in this "no start" condition? How long are you letting the pump run? If your...

10% Ethanol will not start……no fire??

The acc pump needles can stick from ethanol gum also! Had that happen more than once.

10% Ethanol will not start……no fire??

2nd post by me.....are we assuming this has an electric pump, with a full return system? surely the bowls aren't simply dry from sitting? (on top of my previous ethanol based post)?

10% Ethanol will not start……no fire??

I think you fellas may be over thinking it. Ethanol evaporates quickly....also corrosive. The longer it sits, the emptier/drier/gummier things get. There are numerous fuel additives out there that fight this, from Lucas, VP, etc. Thats if you don't have access to ethanol free fuel. Around...

Allstar Performance ALL54224 Throttle Cable Bracket

Lokar makes a nice throttle cable. I have found that's one of the things you get what you pay for. As a dumb kid, I would go through 10 cheapo throttle cables and brackets from Mr gasket, or spectra, or ebay to "save money" before finally buying a good one that didn't fall apart in a summer...

    Demon Electric choke

constant 12v would render it inop, as it would just be open...and it would drain your bat. If its a run position 12v, that's how it's supposed to work... it heats the coil, and opens the choke over time. There are unused 12v key on wires under the dash. So it works as intended. The only...

    Demon Electric choke

Is this question in regards to a "demon" brand carb? Or a choke that is installed on an A body demon...? I would think a constant 12v would render it inop, as it would just be open...and it would drain your bat. If its a key on 12v, that's how it's supposed to work... it heats the coil...

    Anyone try Thompson powerblast plate

At first I had to change squirters because mine were not aligned properly, and they had to be holley or AED, vs my proform. I honestly think since 90 percent of the population probably just uses an out of the box carb, with jets and squirter that are "close enough" in that situation....they...

    Anyone try Thompson powerblast plate

I did install them. As noted above, they do look like they atomize better, but they did turbulate air flow on a flow bench as well. I didn't notice any real gains on the car from last season to this season. 60' times and quarters are the same. I don't think they are "bad" but I can't say I...

    Fitech set up

I got your PM and responded. These guys are suggesting you Eliminate the orange box by installing an oem GM HEI module. Then running the unit w/o timing control. The sniper and fitech are both susceptible to rfi. I personally don't like the stock distributors with EFI, but technically if...

New 408 stroker runs rough at idle

New 408 stroker runs rough at idle

PM me a phone # and i'll get tech to call you. I've owned one edelbrock ever, so I want you to talk to someone better then me. If it was a holley, i can mess with those in my sleep. We can go from there. we can also sell you the same Holley 750 we would have used. since you have an MSD and...

New 408 stroker runs rough at idle

We can get you the exact carb that would have come on it as a dressed engine if you are interested. I'm not an edelbrock expert. But sounds like it's your culprit.

New 408 stroker runs rough at idle

It should die with the idle screws in. You are bleeding through somewhere. Vac secondary mis adjusted. My main guess if no vac leak. Send me your serial #

New 408 stroker runs rough at idle

What can you adjust the idle down to? Have you tried turning the idle mix screws in all the way to ensure the engine dies? (Lightly until they bottom out) Does this have a choke? is it open? have you put a temp gun on every cyl and make sure all 8 are firing? Ignition system ran flawlessly on...

New 408 stroker runs rough at idle

I asked you to check the plugs and the RPM that it cleans up, because you very easily could have fouled plugs from the poorly tuned first carburetor. You could also very well have a vacuum leak on the intake. Also the total timing is actually more important than initial timing. Unless an...

New 408 stroker runs rough at idle

We're at 2150. You loose approx 1 inch per 1000. But our ratings are conservative. Your reading still feels low. Will it rev clean once you get it to "catch up" and pass the stumble? What do your plugs look like? What is total timing at?

New 408 stroker runs rough at idle

What is total timing at, and why trying to idle at 700 vs 800, even 850. 10 initial is low, but need to know what it has total first and foremost. That distributor may only have 10-15 degrees of sweep, pending what has been done to it. Hard telling if you don't verify total .

New 408 stroker runs rough at idle

They also don't "make too little vac" for a 4160. 700 idle is low. What is total timing at?

New 408 stroker runs rough at idle

Glad to help you buddy. Those make around 11-12 inches idle vac. Not sure if you have checked that. You mentioned it was a "CT". so longblock w/o intake when it left. You should be able to crank in the idle screws on your carb and kill the engine. Adjusting those with no change says floats...

I didn't mean any shots at you. sorry if i seemed a bit snippy. I'm no more use than anyone else at this point as i haven't tracked it yet. I 100% get the thought process. Atomize fuel better....get a better burn...make more power. question is... does a finely tuned carburetor benefit any...
