    Twister tail stripe

I could be wrong , but that V8W is a misstamp , as the "8" is the same code for the so-called "Bumblebee" stripe (e.g. , the Swinger 340 , Dart GTS , Charger R/T , etc.) , whereas the V9W is *probably* the correct code . Which plant was your Duster built in ; Hamtramck (B)or Los Angeles (E)?

Yes ... I was thinking of my '72 and its E2XW

I recognise that your Dart's originally-equipped with the N95 Cleaner Air Package (mandatory in Ca , optional elsewhere) ; and I also see that it originally had white bench seat interior (E2XW) . In my opinion , the V8"x" ( "x" = white , black , etc. , etc. ) stripe is overdone. I'd skip out...

    Looking for opinions

I'd go with a painted roof , in white . The scoops with blackout hood treatment combo sounds good . Are you thinking in terms of a '71 Demon 340 type of blackout treatment , or something custom ? By the way , what colour is the interior ? I can't tell from the photos whether it's white or tan .

70 340 Swinger - Which Antenna - Fix or Telescoping?

the "fixed" or "one-piece mast" didn't arrive until the 1972 model year ; and , I'm sure that there was a build-out overlap (which is of zero concern to you with your 1970 model).

    bumper color?

Here's but one example of what I mean by Spray On Chrome : 302 Found Mopar Action's '69 Valiant has chrome painted fibreglass bumpers , and it looks great !

    bumper color?

Have you ever seen that new paint-chrome ? It looks all day long like chrome plating , but it's actually paint ! I don't know how much it costs ; I've only seen it in articles .

    Resto-Mod VS Classic

I don't like Centerlines because : - They're plain - They're common - They inhibit brake cooling - They take away from an otherwise nice car's looks (see first opinion on my list ). Again , this is my opinion :glasses7:

    Resto-Mod VS Classic

In my opinion : - Not a fan of body colour bumpers ( excepting the Elastomeric rubber-coated bumpers of "B" & "E" bodies ) ; - I absolutely despise Centerline wheels ; - Red --unless car was originally red-- is *yawn* Have you checked into that *real* spray-on 'chrome' ? It's legit ! Just...

    Custom bumble bee stripe choice

I like something about all of the designs ; and with that in mind , I'd like to make a couple of suggestions ( probably already mentioned ) : - Use the "Scamp" script without any "Plymouth" designation(s) - Go for something more stylised ; perhaps a 'Swinger'-esque script - Add some colours...

From vinyl to bedliner... Top question

I've given serious consideration to doing this very thing to my '72 Coronet's roof ; there are so many surface imperfections ( serious pitting ) that it'd be an exercise in frustration trying to get the roof to look decent . It was originally equipped with a V1W ( body colour is light gold )...

    Question concerning paint code......

    T = 1962 . TX9 ( Black ) and TB3 ( Corporate Blue / Petty Blue ['64-'71] / Super Blue [Dodge , '72-?] & Basin Street Blue ['72-?] ) both date-back to 1962 . These 3-character codes are the last-three of Chrysler's supplier's paint part number .

    Question concerning paint code......

My point exactly . "EB5" was used in '69 and '70 ; in 1971 it became "GB5" when it was reformulated ; then again in '74 as "KB5" ; and finally in '76 as "MB5" . Then there were one-year-only colours like "GY3" ( Curious Yellow / Citron Yella ) .

    Question concerning paint code......

    All that I can tell you is that "H" = 1972 ( e.g. , "E"=1969 , "F"=1970 , "G" = 1971 , ad seq. ) . However , just because of its alpha-prefix being an "H" , doesn't mean that's the year of the car . Witness the paint code "TB3" : "T"=1962 ; however , this code wasn't applied to the fender tag...

    wind whistle

welcome to the world of MoPar ! ALL of these cars had that damned whistling , even when they were new (!!) . The pillarless door glass of the Duster / Demon / Dart Sport / H.T. Dart / Scamp only made the problem worse ( especially the '73-'76 "23" bodystyles ), and it was further-compounded by...

    Fender tags?

btw , a fender tag (et al.) isn't recognised as a legal v.i.n. Really , a fender tag's appearance is more by default than anything . Their sole purpose -- at the time of the cars' construction -- was merely for the line workers ; they were also supposed to used as drilling templates ( so I've...

Tips on instalation of a new vinle top

May I make a couple of suggestions ? - Be sure the roof's painted completely , including window channels ; - After the vinyl is added , run a bead of sealant between : 1. roof / pillars and the windows' trim 2. window trim and glass itself Doing this will help cut down on future rust , as the...

    VIN tag locations

When you find the last 8 characters of your Duster's v.i.n. , you can surmise the rest of the v.i.n. For instance : Let's say you find "B3400200" , you can probably add a "VL29G" or "VS29H" or whatever , and end-up with , say , "VS29H3B400200" . When you do find the other 8 characters ...

Too poor for new paint, like me?

Looks good ! If you want to save yourself some time & effort -- and I'm sure that you do -- try washing the car with Ajax ( et al. ) prior to polishing and waxing . Surly , the Ajax is messy as hell , but it sure beats having your arms and shoulders kill ya for a week afterward ! Just go to...

Difference between Swinger 69 and 70 up doors

    I believe that 1970 & up doors have the side-impact beams ( federal requirement ) . As MtNemoMopar stated : '67 - '69 , be certain it's for a hardtop ( "23" body style ) vs. a sedan ( "21" body style ) . Also , I believe that the 1970 model year was the first year that the v.i.n. was stamped...
