    67 Dart Post Project

Drove the car about 20 miles after work today. Put a piece of cardboard under it afterwards. 3 hours later.... only 1 drop of oil!! That 1 drop is most likely because the inside of the bellhousing is still coated in oil. I'll clean everything when I replace the clutch disc. Anyone wanna buy a...

    67 Dart Post Project

Getting pretty good at removing and installing the trans. Not sure if that's a good thing or not. Pulled it out and checked the front seal. It was definitely the culprit. The shaft is worn and pitted. I installed one of those shaft repair sleeves and put everything back together. Took 2 hours...

Feel kinda stupid but I think I found out where my oil leak is coming from. I've been all over the back of the engine trying to find it but could never stop it. I had completely ruled out that the trans could be the culprit because I swore the Redline oil I put in it was RED! Well, it's not...

I found a new LC-1 with the gauge included for $120 on craigslist. Couldn't pass it up.

I installed an Innovative wideband sensor last night to make tuning the Holley 750DP much easier. Cool part is that the gauge fits in the ashtray so I can easily hide it when it's not in use. Checked my manifold vacuum at idle and it's around 5". Since the stock power valve opens at 6.5 that...

Decided the engine didn't match the theme of the rest of the car so I started the blackout treatment. I'm digging it so far.

Changed the rear tires to 305-45-17 today. About an inch shorter and an inch wider than what i was running. Wheel wells look full in the pic but there's actually room for about 1.5" wider. Still can't get any traction but it's sure fun.

Here's a summary of whats been done to it. I think I'm gonna start my asking price around $20K ENGINE • 360 bored and stroked to 408ci • 10.3 to 1 compression • Approx 500 hp and 500 ft lbs • Eagle forged stroker crank with ESP armor • Eagle forged H beam rods...

One thing is for sure... I wouldn't have used so many high end parts if i had any intention of selling it. It will make breaking even pretty much impossible.

    67 Dart Post Project

It's a tough decision for sure but for me, building it was half the fun. Hopefully i can at least get the cost of the parts out of it if i sell it.

400k will buy a 40 year old fixer upper in an OK part of town. Close to the beach you need to add a zero.

I know I'm gonna catch hell for this and I'll probably regret it but I'm considering selling the Dart. I've been trying to buy a house here in San Diego and they are crazy expensive. The Dart would make a nice down payment and I can always enjoy building another one in the future. Here are some...

    67 Dart Post Project

Nothing much new to write about. The car has quite a few minor things to finish up but I just haven't been motivated to work on it. I have put a couple hundred miles on it and it's a blast to drive. Has much better road manners than I was expecting but it drinks premium like its going out of style.

The bumpers are fiberglass so I just used JB weld to glue the bolts to the back side of the bumpers in the appropriate locations.

Received my black and yellow plates so I started the restoration process on them. Stripped them down and put a nice thick coat of School Bus Yellow followed by a coat of clear. Going to let them dry for about a week and then I'll coat them in Black. Before the black fully cures I'll carefully...

Got the front and rear glass installed along with the front Hellwig sway bar. Couldn't get the rear sway bar on due to my rear end being moved from the stock location. Gonna try to mount it backwards next time I'm there. I sent in the registration to remove it from Non-op status so it will be on...

We've come a long way baby.

I shopped around and found places cheaper than Summit but none had both the left and right for some reason. I ended up buying from Summit with price matches to Amazon. With the adapters it came to a little under $700.

Haha, I can't wait to let her rip!! Went for another short ride around the airport tonight. As soon as I got home I ordered a set of front and rear Hellwig sway bars. Damn this thing has some body roll!!!

Thanks, I still have quite a bit of work to do but at least it's drive-able. You definitely have a much better start then I did. Nice looking Dart. If I were to do it all over again I would start with one in better condition.

We've come a long way baby.

Well it's been 26 months and counting. Hard to believe that it's the same car I started with. Never thought it would turn out this great but I don't think I'd do it all over again. Way more work and time than I ever expected. All these finished cars for sale look like a bargain now. Here's the...

Some teaser pics. Almost there. Actually took her for a little drive around the airport hanger. This car is gonna get me in trouble for sure. I can't imagine what it will be like once the carb and ignition are all tuned. Headliner gets finished tonight and then it's just installing the glass and...

Finally got around to fabricating some new rear shock mounts. I moved the rear end 1.5" back when I did the spring relocation. Because of this the stock upper shock mounts won't work. I flipped the lower shock mounts so the shocks are in front of the axle now and welded in a new crossmember for...

Accomplished quite a bit on the Dart today. Installed the new Grant steering wheel along with the front arm rests. Applied the sound deadener to the roof of the car and then started to put the headliner in. Spent about an hour on the headliner before I decided to work on something else for a...

What have I gotten myself into?

Beautiful build. I'm lovin the stance. I thought I did a lot of body mods on my Dart but you make mine look like childs play. You're the only other person I've seen that shaved the drip rails. Tons of work but worth every second. Keep up the great work.

Lol, after I posted my pic I noticed you guys already mentioned my car. Thanks I feel special, haha. Most of my pics are taken indoors, the color lightens up quite a bit when it's in the sun.

disc brake swap turn full resto

That's the color I painted my Dart. I've also gone with a lot of satin black accents. The color is called Pepper Gray Metallic. It's not silver at all. More of a greenish gray. She's pretty dusty in this pic but you get the idea.

    Its finally in paint!

Put the 3.55 Sure Grip in and installed the drive shaft on Sunday. Everything fit great and the install went quick. I welded on my second set of Dynomax VT mufflers also. This set is supposed to have a stiffer spring to prevent the valves from rattling but they are still making noise..... Oh...

I just got the call that my driveshaft is ready to be picked up. I could slap my old blue steering wheel on there and try to drive it. I'll probably put my sure grip 3rd member in first though. Maybe on Sunday!!
