Where oh where do they go?

Does anyone know where these y brackets go? I’m thinking they are for somewhere on the front bumper or grill assembly. I took these off a long time ago forgot to take pics and I can’t remember where they go?

Properly sealing timing cover to oil pan.

So I have my back end of my car up on ramps to bleed the rear brakes and I’m also working out the tuning/timing issues that I’m being helped with in another post. Now I have again noticed that there is a good amount of oil leaking out from the bottom left corner of the timing cover. The area...

Properly sealing timing cover to oil pan.

Thanks everyone. It feels great when you don’t give up and something works out. Even though it means doing things multiple times.

Properly sealing timing cover to oil pan.

So I finally got everything back together today and I’m proud to say not leaking a drop so far. It’s a far cry from how it was running out between the bottom of the timing cover and the oil pan. I cut a gasket from a little bit thicker gasket material. Maybe 1/16” thickness. You can’t go too...

Properly sealing timing cover to oil pan.

Rmoore I not exactly sure what an oil slinger on the crankshaft is supposed to look like? I don’t believe there is anything I have left out when I reassembled the front of the engine. If it’s not there I don’t think it was ever there? What exactly does it look like and where does it go...

Properly sealing timing cover to oil pan.

RustyRatRod It does actually have the passengers side dowel pin it’s just covered up by the gasket which is not yet aligned correct as it’s not positioned onto the pin. Maybe if I make sure the bottom of the timing cover is totally flat and I lay a generous bead of rtv on the oil pan top edge...

Properly sealing timing cover to oil pan.

I just recently had to pull apart the water pump and the front timing cover on my engine after just recently getting it all back together. I guess I’m just destined to learn how to properly do things by often doing them twice. I thought I had adequately sealed up and reassembled the bottom of...

Where oh where do they go?

I should of taken better pics of where some things went so now I’m at a loss. Can you tell me where does this connection go? It runs off of the lead from the firewall harness located down by the alternator. Also I can’t remember what the brackets are for? Any help appreciated. Carl

Getting lower pulley to bolt to dampener?

I was also possibly thinking instead of taking the dampener bolt out to remove one of the washers I could use a header type bolt. I was looking at the ones I have but the size of the threaded portion is one size too big. If I could find a header type bolt the size of the holes it would work.

Getting lower pulley to bolt to dampener?

I’ll tell you what everyone. When you are learning how to do everything on your car wow is there a lot of roadblocks and stumbles. So I’m trying do something very simple. Just bolt my lower pulley to my dampener so that I can run my alternator. Well I can’t find the bolts that originally...

    Anyone watch Junkerup? Chris Birdsong.

I’ve been watching this channel on my iPad when wrenching on my car. Not a big budget BS show. Just a talented guy that finds, works on and resurrects 2nd gen chargers for some customers and himself. He seems real world, down to earth, hardworking and quite talented. His welding skills are...

Finding correct gasket for aluminum valve covers.

I have upgraded to aluminum valve covers to make room for roller rockers with a geometry kit. The OEM valve covers don’t fit. I have a pic of the new valve cover with a thicker type cork gasket under it. I’m just concerned that because the eddy head is flush and the base of valve cover is...

67 dart,, only made one year,,

66-68 a body consoles where chrome edged with like an argent silver center. The dash on a 67 Dart I don’t believe was available with wood grain until 68 or even 69. The console had wood grain on it in 69.

    WIW - 1967 Barracuda 383 4 speed car

As someone that owns a 67 conv 383 4 speed formula s I’ll give my two cents for what it’s worth. I’d say that if you could buy that 67 blue 383 4 speed posted previously and it is as nice as it looks inside and out and mechanically, high teens is an absolute steal. Most cars you see advertised...

How to properly remove dampener bolt?

I see that someone referenced an impact gun for $40.00. If that’s the case I may of considered an impact gun. I just thought for $40.00 all you get is a cheap Chinese knock off that isn’t durable and I thought you needed additional hardware to run one? Like an air compressor that can handle...

How to properly remove dampener bolt?

No listen I don’t take offense to any of this. I’m learning a lot from this website and appreciate all the help. Keep in mind I don’t have the luxury of impact wrench or air tools an air compressor a welder a press etc. Things are much more difficult that way. Maybe in due time I’ll have all...

How to properly remove dampener bolt?

Alaskan TA But don’t you have to get the crankcase bolt out to remove the pulley? If that’s the case I might as well just try to bump the engine with the starter. Carl
