Wire a nutral safety switch 3 prong in a 67a body

To use the reverse light switch in the later NSS with a '67, follow the '67 4-speed reverse wiring. This assumse the transmission has the matching rooster comb. https://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/threads/new-wiring-for-our-%E2%80%9867-b%E2%80%99cuda.511930/post-1973811649

    transmission fluid

For what you need, find a reputable company and look at the bottle and see how its labeled. Does it say Dex III replacement. You're good to go. This industry group tests ATF. You can look through the results. Not too many fail to mee the spec. https://pqia.org/automatic-transmission-fluid/

    transmission fluid

@trudysduster seemed to be looking for a basic answer. Of the ATF available today, Chrysler spec'd Dex II , superceded by III, for the Torqueflites. so look for an ATF bottle/website labeled replaces III. Technical differences between F and the others is friction modifiers. All of the Dex/Merc...

You can' to too wrong with Dex/Merc. Whatever you buy, check the label to see if it is specifically a replacement for Dex III.

    727 Torqueflite

Fluid level, Filter condition Fluid condition. If manual shifting, selector linkage adjustment. If autoshifting, throttle linkage adjustment. Then depending on specifics there's other things that may be more likely. but those are the first ideas. Note fluid level is checked running with...

    A Limmited Slip Differential Question

That's possble. I was talking with Cass about the gear type limited slip. It doesn't use friction so runs cooler than auburn or clutch units, BUT it will not work for situations where one wheel has no traction (such as ice).

Thanks! The deeper side gears from Cass arrived just now.

    Power Loc Clutch material

For the Surgrip clutch Dr Diffwrote that he has "fiber/steel or all steel clutch pack ($79 each)" No info on the website. AKAIK factory was all steel. What would fiber do, or not do??

    Precision Axle Bearings?

Cass asked me whether I wanted Precision or Timken bearings on the axle. Unfortunately he hasn't got back to me, presumably he's busy, so I'm going to ask here. What's the difference? I've always used Timken. Before someone writes that Precision is Green Roller bearings, that is not what he...

    IS THIS BAD?

Really no idea why you thought I was "trying something" I mentioned Houser earlier in this thead and my point was that there's no reason for me to discuss him and his work further. You're stated location is in the same area as me, and based your posts you have some familiarity with this stuff...

Got someone in SE pa to suggest whose not a hack? PS. I looked up Houser. He's gone. So no point is saying anything more about his work.

    IS THIS BAD?

Thanks Roy. Mike. That's probably true rather than horsepower itself.. Hot sticky tires in tight turns topped of with on and off power/engine braking. The fact the guy made the sure grip extra tight probably made it worse. He was thinking 'circle track' dirt, where maybe that has some...

    IS THIS BAD?

Next question is why? or more correctly what caused it? The extra tight lockup? a lubrication issue? an engagement issue? or just abuse over time?

    IS THIS BAD?

How 'bout this? Left axle. Dana type sur-grip built and installed by Art Houser about 15 years ago (replacing the worn out cone unit). I removed it because the axle seal was leaking.

Correct kickdown linkage for a '74 Duster?

Yup.^^^ And there is nothing more solid than the information published by Chrysler Corp at the time. Is it perfect? Well no. Sometimes they kept old illustration or made mistakes, but for things like this - its going to be pretty up to date. You can then check Hamtramck Historical Library for...

Correct kickdown linkage for a '74 Duster?

and so was my answer. Maybe the mods can restore it. The first part of your post looked like it was headed tward a 'want ad' Only when I read further in it became apparent you were looking for advice. I remember some of what I wrote. Start with a '74 factrory shop manual to see what type was...

    Recommendations for trans fluid??

It's the nature of hot roddering to look for improvements. When the main goal is strictly 1/4 mile racing, there's all sorts of little tricks (some of which seemed to work). From that heritage a lot of people uncounciously get caught up in thinking a) It (supposedly) worked for drag racing...

A727 Kickdown Linkage in 70 Duster

As someone wrote above, the 'kickdown' is just a secondary function. The main job is to increase the internal pressure with increasing throttle. There's some overviews of how the torquflites work in here. Master Technician Service Conference - Chrysler's Training for Mechanics 1971 has a...

A727 Kickdown Linkage in 70 Duster

manual valve body (or kit) can be had in either direction. PRN321 or PRN123 Valve Bodies - A&A Transmissions Valve Bodies Either way you would know it because you have to manual shift. It will only change gears when the selector is moved.

A727 Kickdown Linkage in 70 Duster

By the part numbers, the 904/318 assembly is different from the 727/340 except for two pieces; slip link, throttle lever on bracket (upper bell crank). That said, the ones that are clearly different are: The 904 lever for the transmission. That part should be correct. With a dual plane...

    Incredibly dumb question..Trans pig tail

This is from the ***'y drawings. Clip 2 is the longer one bent forward. Notice it shows two wires from the bulkhead connector to a two wire connector. You could make that, or you can push the male terminals directly into the bulkhead connector (which is what I did). Edit. I see you have the...

    Incredibly dumb question..Trans pig tail

That particular harnesses was retained by two clips on the transmission. The longer one goes under top left tailshaft housing screw head. Shorter one top right attachment bolt to engine. If not on the car now, you can make 'em yourself or buy 'em. I made the shorter one. Hopefully you dont...

    Incredibly dumb question..Trans pig tail

Maybe @toolmanmike can move the thread. (thanks Mike) IF the NSS on your transmission has the 3 prongs, then you can probably use that harness as MBaird wrote. Probably. Probably because I bought an M&H reverse/NSS harness like that one and the NSS wire was too short. It would reach only if...
