    If that was the case, you'd have a lot more than 100 psi at 6k and probably a blown up oil filter.

    Judging from the 50 psi when idling (assuming warm engine and oil,) the bearing clearances are pretty tight. I wouldn't take it much past 6k RPM.

    6.1 or 5.7? Not a bad price either way. Make sure the wiring is there and intact. Guys with lightly modded 6.1's in 4100lb LX's are easily going low 12's. Take about 1000lbs off and do the math. 'Nuff said! The cons are high price, added complexity and possibly limiting yourself to manual...

    Follow the order in the FSM. Otherwise, as a rule of thumb, start in the center and work your way outward. This applies to mains, heads, intakes, etc.
