    Universal Radiator Installation

We'll wait for the new pics. :) Did you have any problems with the large top and bottom hoses fitting and was your bottom one heading in the right direction for your water pump outlet? I should have looked more closely at your photos.

    Universal Radiator Installation

Ken, thanks for the photos. I never even thought about putting a 1/2 ton rad in my 66, but now I'll have to go a-lookin'. My old rad is getting pretty worn and tattered after all these years. :) Also, you should put some pics of your car in your Garage. That's a nice looking machine you have...

    Radiator core addition cost???

Dave I've been running the stock 273 rad, shroud, and fan on the original 273, a warmed over 318 for 10 years, and the heated up (no pun intended :) ) 360 for the past 18 years, and never once had an overheating problem.

Is you 273 radiator causing you problems? If not, don't fix it! :) As long as it's clean and not leaking it will work just fine as is.

    What radiator?

There has been some good info on this in quite a few past threads. Maybe do a search and I think you'll find that quite a few folks are using one of the universal type aluminum rads from Summit or Jegs. Just make sure the inlet/outlet necks are in the proper position for your particular...

    Range of the Temp SBM

Put in soemthing like a 180 degree thermostat. With no thermostat, the water is probably circulating through the system so fast it doesn't stay in the radiator long enough to cool down. The thermostat will create a restriction allowing the water to stay in the radiator longer and get cooled down...

    Radiator cap pressure

I've always run either 14 or 16 lb caps on old Mopars and I've never really had any overheating problems with either small or big blocks.

    Vent duct

MoparFan, it's best if you take your old hose with you and go to NAPA with it. If they try to source it on the computer, chances are they will say they don't have it, but if you take the old one in, they just might have something on the shelf they can cut to length for you. That's what I had to...

    Vent duct

I replaced one on my 66 years ago, and I got it at NAPA. The replacement ones are made of plastic type material, not the cloth/wire like the originals.

    Trans cooler question

What Mrmopartech said. I've run that same cooler, hooked up as stated, first with a 904/318 combo and for the past 15 years a 727 and warmed over 360 in a 66 Valiant. I've driven this thing across Canada twice towing a fairly heavy utility trailer, and have never had any overheating problems. I...
