    4933S tuning kit

I do believe they will work. I think the rods are interchangeable also.

    4933S tuning kit

there are no kits with 3-step metering rods, only the 2-step rods. The only thing I can think of would be to figure out the steps on the current and figure where you need want to go - shop for 3 steps from there, they are out there if you look.

69 340 air cleaner assembly on thermoquad questions

Yes avs, holley and t-quad should all have the same 5-1/8" diameter. The 67 and earlier AFB was an inch smaller.

    Plating question

    273 4 barrel manifold questions

if you do end up going with the factory 273 4-bbl intake try to get the throttle bracket that goes with it. It kicks out for the 4-bbl carb as yours kicks in for the 2 bbl. see pic's in link, they can be hard to find http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/showthread.php?t=188106

    67 barracuda gas tank removal

I have never needed to remove the filler tube. I walk the tank onto the filler tube first then set it against the floor pan. I have done this alone with one functional arm. The parts listed are correct. I would also replace the filler tube grommet where it goes into the tank. Detroit Muscle...

67 Dodge Dart GT Throttle Cable

I have used that cable. I also found out that there are a couple different bb throttle brackets in how they position the cable mounting. Once I got that figured out it worked fine. I have used one for a /6 with no issues with LA engine as it is longer and works good with highrise intake, but...

    273 commando

for cruising around it won't matter. Run'er hard might want to add a little more octane. I just run whatever and have no problems with mine.

    Fastback fuel tank removal

I have done several fastbacks use a new grommet as they are a bit more flexible then the dried hard old ones. Clean the end of the tube of debris and with a little lube on the tube I can twist the tank back and forth on the tube and walk it on. Once I had to remove the three upper screws that...

    Help identify carb

The linkage arms are Chrysler. The factory 3705 had no vacuum port. With everything I see I would have to say non-factory "over the counter" Carter AFB for Chrysler - 3705 platform set up for "Non-ported vacuum".

    Help identify carb

The ported vacuum hose connector is not only there but on wrong side. With that said not a 3705 or 3861. They are likely not Mopar. How about a picture of the linkage mounting...

    Fuel transmitter (sender) removal?

if you're pulling the tank replace the rubber o-ring for the filler neck also it is most likely toast.

Fuel tank sending unit ground strap

no, it literally IS the ground for the sending unit. You would need to ground it some other way if you omit the ground strap to get the gauge to work.

    ? for AVS rebuilders

I would say required it keeps the fuel from flowing back into the bowl for the accelerator pump shot w/o it could cause stumble on acceleration. A new ball should be part of any rebuild kit.

***WANTED: Pair of 3-step (old) AFB Carter 16-405 metering rods***

damn it! I was up at wildcat today. I should have asked Ed about them. And I was even looking at some AFB's he had sitting there. I'll get back up in the next week or so D if you have no luck. I think he said he had a few 273 AFB's there. I had to leave so I could get home before the kids got...

**Wanted: Carter AFB jet #66 - .033" - old, tall style**

Val, out of curiosity what are the metering rod numbers you have? and have you mic'ed the 3 steps? I keep a chart, the 2 step stuff is very documented but not so with the 3-step stuff. I did find a pair of tall ones came off a 66 273 AFB, but are marked unreadable. I will see if I can get an...

    need help with 66 afb!!

rear jets should be same size, but shouldn't be causing an off idle stumble. That Carb should have a high top cover (not flat) with a 3 step rods and deep/tall jets on the primary. If they have been replaced (sounds likely) with a 2 step jet or rod or both and the tops are still high top...

    Carter 9626 mounting

I should be more clear. The primary throttle blades on the 9626 are much larger than the spread bore therefore they will not open without a spacer. The adapter can be had at near any parts store.
  27. Rocky_JS

    Carter 9626 mounting

9626 is a square flange carb. A spread bore is a carter thermoquad or rochester quadrajet. you probably have a miss-match. You'll likely need a spacer or proper intake or carb.

    Carter AFB stumble

they made 3 squirters .024, .033, .039 doubt making a change here will have any effect on light throttle acceleration. worn throttle shaft? jetting, timing. as said more is not always the answer in fact rarely is the answer. you mention ping timing to far advanced possibly?

Is this a old Chrysler AFB or Carter performance series AFB or and Edelbrock AFB?
