I would think a standard drop pan like a B&M with a windage tray would accomplish keeping the fluid away from moving parts more than that would.

Engine is nothing more than an air pump. Maybe several things heads , carb size, timing? What RPM is it turning at the end of the 1/8?

Only way you can safely shift into neural after a pass is if you a clean neural after high gear. Or you have manual VB with a forward pattern.

The main reason for the bump to neutral was to take the stress off aluminum rods. This was told to me by BME. But unless you have a forward pattern VB it’s mot possible. I ran a forward pattern glide trans with a brake in the 67 Super Gas 67 Barracuda in my Avatar. So bumping it up to neutral...

I changed oil much more often. But I able to run without a radiator and only ran water in the block. Ran so cool I had a fit getting it to 150 at start and was only 170 after a run.

Methanol dilutes the oil much quicker cause you run so much more alcohol than gas. My SG 67 Barracuda picked up 2/10’s over a well tune gas Dominator. But i was running a Ron’s flying toilet.
