Did I just ruin my crank?

Doesn't look too serious. At least you caught it before you fired it up. In high school we built chevy small blocks and we had a piece of steel shot get in one of the mains. We just had it reground and installed new bearings. It locked up right after start up.

    361 bore

Anybody know how far a 361 can be bored to. I would like to get it to 4.25 the same as the 383 from the 4.12 that it is now. I am planning to put in a 4.25" stroke crank shaft also. thanks

    383 stroker

It has B 361 stamped in it on the surface below the distributor. The year of the block is 54 also stamped in the same location.

    383 stroker

Yesterday I found a 383 at the local junkyard. I was going to pick it up next weekend for $125. I was looking to rip it apart and over time build a big block stroker. It would be replacing the 318 in my barracuda. What do you guys think, how many of you have done this? Evan
