    What a bummer...

So based off my last trouble post, 70Duster440 nailed the problem by saying that my float bowls were empty. I had installed a new fuel pump anyways. I bought the same Carter Strip Mechanical pump. Actually, it was the most recent version (GM6270) since the old part # was outdated. I think the...

It is the correct pump. The angle is correct as well.

Fuel Pump & Zero Fuel Pressure

There was definitely spring pressure. The pump is seated correctly. The pump outlet is already disconnected. I took the liberty of testing it before I was going to put the rest of it back together. There is fuel in the fuel line to the inlet. The pump isn't pulling the fuel through.

Fuel Pump & Zero Fuel Pressure

Hey Everyone. About 7 months ago, my Duster stopped running. Actually about 7 months ago, I parked it. After about 2 months later, I tried to start it. Good spark, no fuel. I figured it was the fuel pump. Got a little got up in things and fast forward to now. I replaced the fuel pump and still...

Holley 650 DP vs Edelbrock 600

Keep working the Holley. It will be better with the cam you have in there now. You would need to work the Eddy if you swapped it on there anyways.

Torker II or M-1 Single Plane?

It looks like the M-1 is the overwhelming favorite. Mopar has 2 versions, 1) P4876334 idle - 5600 rpms and 2) P5249614 2800 - 7500 rpms. Is it safe to assume that I should go with option 2, P5249614?

Torker II or M-1 Single Plane?

Hey Everyone. While checking for intake leaks and taking a closer look at the manifold, I realized I had an older style Torker 340 instead of the Torker II. So since I have to replace the intake gasket, I've been kicking around the idea of swapping intakes. Should I upgrade to a Torker II or a...

    Fuel Lines and Fittings

I am planning on redoing my fuel lines, from tank to carb, mechanical fuel pump with 3/8 lines. Motor puts out around 400 HP. This is an area i've paid little attention to in the past and need to get up to speed. Who uses what brands and why? Thanks in advance.

Where To Get High Octane Gas...

Not sure. I'll get those prices the next time I go there. They sell the leaded stuff by the 5 gallon container as well. But even the owner/manager there recommended bringing my own container to fill up from the pump because they would end up having to charge too much for the container stuff.

Where To Get High Octane Gas...

Sunol Super Stop For those who live near Fremont or Pleasanton, CA., here is a gas station which sells high octane gasoline. It is located off the same exit as the Sunol golf course (Andrade Rd off of 680). They have Torco 100 unleaded, 110 leaded and another leaded grade in between. I use...

Cold Air Ducting - What Material?

Cold Air Ducting - What Material?

So I want to add a cold air intake to the Duster. I was at the hardware store today and picked up a pair of 5" to 4" reducers to use as the inlets. I plan on using a 14x4@80 box from www.RamAirBox.com. My question is what type of ducting should I use? I know it will need to be 4" tubing. I...

Q: Carb to suit a mild 318 stroker

Holley's website has a cool tool for this... http://www.holley.com/division/Holley.asp Top right hand corner. One of the important determining factors is max RPM of motor. For your 383 up to 6000 RPM's, it suggests 750, or Street Avenger 770.

    1965 Barracuda with a 360...intake suggestions?

The standard Performer intake is close to stock intake manifold height. The Performer RPM is about an inch taller. You may run into clearance problems with the RPM and 3" air cleaner. regardless of manifold, it would be wise to check hood clearance with modeling clay or Play-doh before you slam...

    Edelbrock 750 Aircleaner?

Most part stores have a cheapo performance parts section. Schucks/Kragen usually carry the standard 14" round, 3" deep chrome open air cleaner made by either Edelbrock or Mr Gasket Co. If you have an aftermarket Edelbrock 4 barrel carb with the standard 5 1/8" opening, then these should work...

    Weiand Action+ or Eddy Performer

If you go with the Eddy carb, go with 1406 electric choke instead of 1405 manual choke. The 1406 comes equipped with leaner jets. It may have a small effect on mileage. Not sure of the answer on your manifold choices but I cannot imagine much difference between the two.
