    just my thought and others probably have the correct answer but... do you have a cast iron head? make a template of that boss/area and transfer to the Brodix head. checking the iron head should also tell you how deep it is. just my opinion

    I used the "stock" replacement Cloyes 340 chain...as mentioned above, got about 6 months out of it. however, I did get real good at changing the chain quickly.

    don't forget to remove rocker arms/shafts first. works well, replaced one spring at the track this way.

    I've got a set from MP that came in a camshaft kit I'm not using. It was a .497 oval track hyd lifter cam and lifter kit...not sure the year? I'll dig the box out if interested. Bob

    probably but they would be revving higher to get the same/close hp and not as much torque. but good guidelines for a start.

    was asking the same question and wondered if it's been tried on a 225. it would raise both the intake and the exhaust but as mentioned entails alot of extra machine work.

    Welcome Steve! Is your 340 a 10.5 or 8.5 to 1 comp engine? Headers? What carb and intake? Rear gear ratio? My combo was a 484/284 hyd cam and GOOD valve springs, aluminum dual plane intake with 750 vac secondary Holley, electronic ignition and 1-3/4" headers with 2-1/2" exhaust to the rear axle...
