Assuming typical stroker kit flat top piston and typical J head being -/+ 72 cc's, that would be around 10:1 compression. I would think anything above mid 90's octane rating should keep it from pinging typical 525/525" cam. But really need more details on cam.

Is this for circle track racing where the class requires a 2 bbl 500 cfm carb ?? What compression ratio are your running? Do you have the piston part numbers?

Excellent car! Fantastic condition. No messed with much as well taken care of. Was not sold new in CA (no N95 tag code). Not a bad thing. It won’t have the 70 California and 71-up emissions stuff to worry about restoring. Like, no vapor return line, no 3-nipple breather, no special 4 nipple...

Yep. That sure looks like it. Maybe I can find some pictures of it. It was a good deal I thought. The bummer was the 360. IIRC, under $6K or $8k at THAT time. I can’t really remember the year though. Did it have a fender tag?

Did this car get repainted recently before you got it. Sounds like a car that was for sale at Spring Fling once. Was purple but had some primer spots on it.

Can you rebuild original units, but change the pickup tube 3/8" ? The advent of off the self stroker kits, better cylinder heads, better cams all have increased the Horsepower output of typical musclecar motor rebuilds. We need more fuel to feed that HP.
