I paid $100 for a housing. I've seen pumpkins sells for about $400. I rebuilt mine a few years ago and cost me about $1k and that was with new axles and and gears and everything. Might have been a little more since I upgraded to disk. My guess depending on what it has anywhere from $700 to $1k?

I have them installed in my rear and did not grease them but I have heard of people greasing them.

I also have a question in regards to green bearings. Do they need to be greased?

This is good to know, because when I put my rear back together with Yukon axles with green bearings I still had the inner axle seal in. I never greased the bearings so I guess the bearings would burn up in no time. I guess I'll be taking my rear apart.

Does anyone here know anyone in Southern New Jersey that knows how to swap out the ring and pinion? I have contacted three different people and they don't call me back and local machine shop but they don't do it. All I need is my gears swapped out and I can out my rear together.

I'm interested to see how you make out. I also have Yukon axles and their currently at the machine shop getting new studs and green bearing installed. But I still have to change the gears in my pumpkin before I do anything.

Yup that's what I did. I got them gave a quick look and said cool. Left feedback and then pulled them out of the box and notice they were different. I have a broken shock stud on one. I got both for the price of the studs. They were already blasted and primed I was just gonna paint them black...

Are there a difference in shock plates. When I pulled my rear one of the shock studs were broken on my shock plate. I wound up picking up a pair cheap on Ebay. When I got them one was different from the other. Of course the seller didn't state that in the auction. I have one that looks like...

I was looking at green bearings and saw the Moser sells them with or with the snap ring. Might be a stupid question but what is the snap ring and do I need it?

I knew you needed to cut it for the A518 to fit but I wasn't sure about the A500. It might be cheaper to put in an A500 than a 2004R but the 2004R seems it may require less work.

Would the A500 fit without cutting the tunnel? What about electronics?
