How much space is required between fan tips and shroud?

Thanks. I think I'll forget the shroud. Usually only gets to the middle of the marked operating range of the temp gauge when sitting at light in summer. When driving with 180 thermostat it's at the bottom of that range. No temp number on stock gauge.

How much space is required between fan tips and shroud?

I was trying to install a shroud on my stock radiator in my 67 GTS. Didn't come with a shroud. For years I have run a 18" stainless flex fan. It does heat up some when you are at a light in summer. Lately I added water wetter which helped some. Thought a shroud would help more so I found a...

Thoughts on Cooling a Stock 383 HP Barracuda/Dart.

When I was having problems with cooling before having the radiator redone I verified how the radiator was working by using an infrared temperature gun. Check the temperature of the radiator when hot from side to side starting at the top working down. Should be relative even across getting...

Thoughts on Cooling a Stock 383 HP Barracuda/Dart.

I'm running the stock radiator, new core and tubs, in my 67 GTS which doesn't have a shroud which is how it was purchased when new. I found a shroud for it but haven't installed it yet. Running 180 thermostat with flex fan that has the same number of blades as the stock fan. Temperature goes...

    Cooling System Additive

The Dart heats up a little when in stop and go when it's 90-95 degrees out so I try some water wetter a few years back and it did make a difference. I changed the coolant lately and decided to try Purple Ice. Didn't read the directions before buying it. Took 1.5 bottles verses one bottle...

Have you cleaned out your cowl lately?

It's a pain to clean them. Mine had white granuals in it left over from the blasting before it got repainted. Even after cleaning I was getting that stuff coming out in summer when you would open the vents. Been thinking maybe the best way to get what's left out is drive a road with 65mph...

    Shroud attaching hardware?

From what I have seen so far it's just some C shaped blind nuts and correct length bolts for the raised mounting spots on the radiator.

Does anyone think it is the radiator besides me?

I also had an engine driven fan. I posted the entire quote on temperature checking. I just picked up on the scanning and it showed up my problem with the radiator. I had some serious temperature differences.

Does anyone think it is the radiator besides me?

You need to do a temperature check of the radiator using an infarred gun. As soon as I read this I had the DAH I should have thought of this thought so I grabbed my infarred gun and scanned my radiator. the idea made perfect sense. 45 years old and it had been checked and flushed during the...

    Fan Shroud in 67?

So anyone know what shroud would fit a 22" radiator on a 67 gts? I would like to add a shroud. Car has always run warmer after the engine compartment heats up. I think the fan is sucking in some of the hot air from the engine compartment instead of drawing thru the radiator.

67 Dart 383 high temperature question

My 383 gts temp gauge was running higher than normal so I grabbed the IR gun and measured the back of the water pump it was fine. I also took out the small hole thermostat that was installed in the engine after it was rebuilt and put back in the high flow design thermostat that had always been...
