    BE SPECIFIC: Powder or liquid RIT DYE? Powder didnt for for me- and i followed the directions, added salt and vinegar.Duplicors spray can from Advanced for $6 w/discount was far easier and worked MUCH better.

    Found out for sure that the powder RIT DYE will NOT dye seat belts. I ended up getting a can of Duplicolors Spray dye and that worked very well.

    I was like you, but found an older dodge pu that had a shoulder belt system that worked fine. I dont know the year, but maybe 89-95ish? came off fairly easy too! Works fine on the DUSTER.
