Sb elecric water pump design. School me on backing plates?

To answer your question, no it does not. The plate blocks everything but the passages which flows directly onto the impeller of the electric pump. I haven’t ever had a cavitation problem with my CSR pump. Other than when you first fill the radiator, my CSR takes a bit of priming. But once it...

    Champion 26" Radiator Review

Just adding my 2 cents. I switched from a stock style radiator and Taurus fan that had issues keeping up, to a CC374 unit with Contour fans. Not only does it look better but it also cools way better! I run an electric water pump with NO thermostat or any restrictors. I have it wired on two...

    Hot at highway speeds

That's exactly what my engine guy told me to do. This is the first time I've actually seen someone mold a newer air dam to an old car. Really doesn't look all that bad.

Wow that's a nice one. You'll have to let us know how that works out.

    Hot at highway speeds

Mine also does this and I don't like seeing 210 either, even if it isn't technically overheating. It runs 3100 ish rpm at 60 too. I'm running an electric water pump so obviously no thermostat. I've put a restriction washer in but I think it actually made things worse. The reasoning behind it...

    Taurus fan on Champion radiator

That fan definitely fits on the Champion better than the radiator I have. I still have a few inches of the radiator that aren't covered by the shroud. With the electric pump, I had to cut away the shroud to fit and shift the fan way to the driver's side. There's about 1/4" between the blades...

    New electric water pump??

Running without the stat my car runs around 200-210 around town on a 100 degree day. Depending on how hot of a motor you've got and your radiator size, I'd say you'd be fine. One thing I really like about the electric pump/fan is being able to let those run after shut down for a few minutes...

    New electric water pump??

I just used stainless pipe plugs as shown. The large plug wasn't screwed in at the time of the pic but all sit flush and look nice once installed.

    Which Junkyard Electric fan?

I have it wired on the low setting for now. All I have to do is pull the wire on the plug from the low and plug into the high wire if I want to change it.

    Which Junkyard Electric fan?

The Taurus fan is popular, the Ford SVT dual fans are popular as well. If you're running AC, probably gonna need the run the Taurus fan on the high setting and maybe the same for the SVT fans. Doing this will draw a lot of amps so wire up for it. I wired all 10 gauge for the Taurus fan I have...

    Taurus Fan Test. Need Feedback!

They both run super smooth at speed and I don't notice the noise over the sound of the air moving. It's only when the motor seems to be off and the fan is turning. I see little clips on the blades the appear to be balancing clips. Other than the clicking, it seems to run good. I think I'll...

    Taurus Fan Test. Need Feedback!

It's for a mid 90's Taurus. My radiator is 16 X 26 and I cut about a half inch off to get it to fit vertically. There's about an inch or so recess on each of the sides to give you an idea of the width (IIRC).

    Taurus Fan Test. Need Feedback!

I ordered it through Amazon so they'll take it back if it's defective. I'm just getting to Seattle now and will be home late tonight. The new fan should already be there so hopefully this one is quiet.

    Taurus Fan Test. Need Feedback!

Ok that's what I needed to know. I've cut on the shroud obviously, but according to my wife who is an Amazon.com addict (I ordered the fan through Amazon), she claims that if the product is defective, they will send a replacement and I just need to send in the old one in within 30 days. So it...

    Taurus Fan Test. Need Feedback!

I had it sitting where air could flow easily through the radiator. Sitting it upright didn't change anything. Here's another video http://youtu.be/ClzvxqD6XeQ

    Taurus Fan Test. Need Feedback!

I test fit the Taurus radiator this evening for fit and function. Everything seemed good except that I'm hearing a clicking noise during operation. Watch the video and let me know what you think. The air flow seems good so I'm happy with that. High speed I think would be overkill so I'm...

    Electric cooling fan

If you want an electric slim fan, try a Zirgo ZFB16S 16". Low amp draw, slim, but it doesn't have a shroud though. I'm either going to use the Taurus fan or that Zirgo. I still need to get my engine in to measure clearances to know which way I'm going to go. The Taurus was my preference...

    which electric fan will fit?

Seen the mid 90's Ford Taurus fans used on stock radiators as well. Single fan but has high and low setting. Guys use the low setting from what I've seen (2500 or 3000 cfm on low. can't remeber exactly) and they say it blows away a single 16" Zirgo 3000 cfm fan in the cooling department. But...
