67 SB Power steering pressure hose

I ran into the same problem when the pressure hose on my 67 Dart (273 2 barrel) developed a leak. The hose looked like yours, tried every auto parts store, online and Year One, etc. And nothing, ended up getting one for a slant six. It works, and nobody notices it's wrong, but I know it is...

Steering wheel off center after box replacement

They were able to center steering wheel with alignment. Let cruise season begin! I will no longer be the butt of jokes for backing into a parking space crooked and 8 foot away from the next car. My old box only had power steering in one direction.

Steering wheel off center after box replacement

Have been thinking for a few years about going aftermarket steering wheel. Do the steering wheel adapters for aftermarket wheels have the master splines? Going to contact steer and gear, then alignment.

Steering wheel off center after box replacement

Box centered, pulled pitman arm, reinstalled it, slid coupler off and back on, still the same, so I guess alignment is next. Should it be ok to drive 30 miles to alignment shop. Here's a picture of my car. Thanks for the help.

    Steering issues 67 Dart

Last summer I put new O-rings in the power steering control valve to fix my power steering leak. Good news is it fixed the leak. Got the valve almost adjusted right, jerks just slightly to the left on startup, but it turns hard one way and easy the other way. Any ideas? Have thought of...

    Stiff power steering

Should there be front to back play in the powersteering pump? I can move the pulley about an 1/8 of inch, forward and back, it is the pulley and shaft that are moving.

    Stiff power steering

The pump is spinning at least at idle and reving it up, drove 18 miles to fill up with gas and didn't hear any squeals that would indicate the belt slipping. Will a pump quit pumping but still spin?

    Stiff power steering

Rebuilt the power steering control valve, new power steering pressure hose, and now my steering is stiffer than it was before. Before it was the typical light, oversteering chrysler steering. This is on a 67 Dart GT with 273 2 barrel automatic. I would prefer the light steering. What do I...

Leaking PS gear box at top-need help

OK thanks. It seems to be steering harder to the right also. this is with tires on cardboard on concrete. I will try side to side adjustment before I take it all apart and start over. Aaron Got it done, ended up pulling valve back off, cleaned everything with brake clean and dried it, lubed...

Leaking PS gear box at top-need help

Have it all back together, new hose, and now I can't get the valve adjusted correctly. It is all the ways forward(towards front of car) and still wants to self turn to the right. Adjusting it rearward and it turns to the right even harder.

67 Dart power steering pressure hose?

Think I'm going to take the hose to a hydraulic shop Friday and see if they could make one, and if so how much. Seems like everything I have seen listed is either for slant six. Sorry I always forget to list the specifics: 67 Dodge Dart 273, 2 barrel, I think it has the federal pump. Thanks

67 Dart power steering pressure hose?

Found I have a pin hole in my power steering pressure hose, Where can I find a new one. O'Reillys and Rock Auto show one, but the picture looks different, if it will work that is no problem, but at $188 and $136 I want to be sure. Are there any alternatives? Thanks Aaron

Leaking PS gear box at top-need help

Got the valve off and new orings, but having trouble getting it back together. The part I am having trouble with is the steel part, it will go together easily without the spring, but once I get the spring on it doesn't want to go together. Is there a trick I am missing? Never mind I got it.

Leaking PS gear box at top-need help

I plan on doing this repair this spring. Hopefully it fixes the problem. Would it be easier to pull the steering box and do this out of the car? This is on a 67 dart 273 car, so the steering box is tucked nicely under the exhaust manifold. Thanks

    Ride height question

When I rebuilt the front end I set it as close as I could to spec when I had it aligned they said it was right on. Would sagging rear springs have any affect on the front ride height?

    Ride height question

Looking under my Dart the other day I noticed that the rebound bumpers on the lower control arms are only about a 1/4 from the frame. Would this cause a harsh ride on rough roads? I would like to raise it up some, will I need it realigned afterwards? Thanks Aaron

    Changing strut rods

I rebuilt the suspension last summer, everything new(PST). The tire placement doesn't concern me as much as the ride quality/handling doesn't seem to be as good as it was before. I am going to call around and try and find a shop to realign it, then have new tires put on. That may sound...

    Changing strut rods

Got wondering if the aftermarket strut rods(steel ones from Mancinis)could be my issue with my front end, so I have a stock pair coming. Can strut rods be changed with out removing control arms? Or should I have another shop check/adjust alignment and let them change strut rods, if they think...

    alignment wrong?

Could broken shifted belts cause it to ride rough? It doesn't seem to pull but does tend to drift to the left slightly. I only have a month left in this cruising season, so I plan on driving cautiously (the group I cruise with mainly cruises back road and runs around 55mph and spreads out so...

    alignment wrong?

Did a scarebird did brake kit, so the front suspension has not been changed, yep have a shop manual. wasn't sure if the wheel placement in the fender meant anything or not.
