    does Stabil work?

I buy Seafoam by the gallon now, and run it in everything. I don’t have to stabilize anything, I run it all the time. And no ethanol in my hobby cars, Rec fuel and 110 Turbo Blue are my choice.

Six pack secondary paper clip test?

theres nothing like the feeling of an extra 1000 cfm kicking in, it’s not for the faint of heart. I enjoy this car so much because it’s a mechanical beast, pure, raw power. You can’t get that nowadays in those new cars with the cup holders. In a properly tuned 6bbl car, there is no time for...

Six pack secondary paper clip test?

When I rebuilt my carbs last year, the Holley tech told me to use the blue bowl gasket, as the primary reason for vacuum secondary problems is that the older gaskets will fail and allow the vacuum chamber to fill with gas. No vacuum chamber, no vacuum. The gasket was $7 apiece, and I have no...

    Fuel sender

So, this is what I did. I bought a Vans sending unit, knowing it would not function properly, but it kept me on the road while I reconditioned my original. I bought the sock, gasket and float from Mancini and completely cleaned and rebuilt my old unit, opened the sweep chamber and it was full of...

What's the absolute maximum range of your Duster?

Sounds like you already have your answer. About 200 miles on a tank, or 10 fill ups. You can always fill it up, drive 100 miles then fill it up again and do the old school miles vs gallons used to figure out what mileage you’re getting.

    Gasoline Octane Suggestions

My information is based solely on the fact that you mentioned a 440. Being it’s in a hobby car, I think my suggestion is pretty good, if it was some high compression flame throwing beast I would think about getting a real estimate on power before making any decisions, but since it’s a weekend...

    Gasoline Octane Suggestions

So, I run a 50/50 mix of 90 octane “rec” fuel, which has no ethanol, and 110 Turbo Blue, which has lead. I have a 440 in that car, and the big iron likes to have a fuel with a longer burn, which is the main property of higher octane fuel. I probably net about 102 octane or so, which is what was...

    Six pack response...

It is a complicated circuit that must be fine tuned in order to minimize the bog associated with opening the outboard carbs through the vacuum circuit. Fist of all, the center carb is known to slightly warp around the float bowl fastening screws due to a thinner design. When that happens, it can...

    Least Shoddy Fuel Sending Unit?

I’ve also heard that Bill Rolik has the best unit out there. It’s $140, but it’s supposed to actually work as intended.

    Least Shoddy Fuel Sending Unit?

I’ve read that the Vans unit’s suck the least. Out of the box they read 77 empty and 8 full, which is on par with the factory specs. I do know that you need to play with them, and accept the fact that you’re better off showing 3/4 full and empty, than full and run out at 1/4 tank.

Air grabber and ram charger oval air cleaner information needed

I don’t know if this helps or not, but this is the original setup of a 6 barrel air cleaner. 2 wing nuts and washers to hold the lid, nothing to hold the base to the carbs tho!

    Unusual Air Cleaner

To tell you the truth, I can’t remember where I got it. I can tell you that it’s the same size as the chrome Commando lids from 66 cars, and that the slant and max wedge units are both different sizes. I believe this lid I have came in a 66 Cuda with a 273 2 bbl, but I don’t remember which car I...

    Unusual Air Cleaner

Here’s one I have with the same 2 bbl baseplate, but no extra bung for the hose, which may be some kind of California emission thing. 1966 Barracuda - exhaust smell

Are there any rust holes in the trunk?? The most common areas to look for would be right around where the trunk pan meets the wheel well, down inside the trunk drops, or along the rear pan where it meets the tailpanel! Also, look at the taillight bezel gaskets, to see if they're cracked or...
