    Always liked that little build.

    very mild 360 build.

I seemed to remember the pic of it pulling the front tire a little bit but thought it had J heads on it then.

Is the motor that was in the yellow car in the 70 Dart? You may have said that but I missed it.

Poll for Minimum Torque for a performance street Machine?

In your opinion what have you found to be the best road gear. I know there’s thousands of factors going into that (converter, tire size, powerband, etc) but for a stock stroll small block what neighborhood are you in?

Poll for Minimum Torque for a performance street Machine?

Never enough. It took me about a month to get used to 430 ft lbs and then I wanted more. At this point it would probably be better to just throw some more gear at it though.

    What’s a 360 worth

My thoughts exactly. Prices today are no where near what they were even 5 years ago. I make this mistake all the time when talking with people because most of my drivetrain was purchased 10-15+ years ago.

15 years with the wrong belt routing

That is a three groove pulley btw. And as far far as I know nothing was damaging the belts. I got a lot of years on those old belts and the only reason I’m replacing them is to be proactive. They still look fine.

15 years with the wrong belt routing

Yep, used to be a slant six car. When I was 17 we pulled the engine out of a motor home in a field. No clue if that motorhome had AC but my 17 year old mind wasn’t thinking about anything besides getting a V8.

15 years with the wrong belt routing

I’m trying to imagine how that would be possible. Doesn’t it turn clockwise just like the engine?

15 years with the wrong belt routing

I surprisingly thought about that. My plan is to buy new belts to install and buy one spare of each to keep in the car. It’s ran on the car fine since 2008 so I recon I’ll just leave it.

15 years with the wrong belt routing

I put a small block in my Dart when I was 18 years old (2008). I am learning today that I’ve had my belt routine wrong from day one. My alternator belt goes from the crank to the alternator and back. Power steering belt goes from the crank to water pump to PS pump. I’m only finding out now...

When to worry about engine noises?

My hydraulic makes some noise as well. 50-60 lbs of oil pressure though.

Not mine. Anyone in Pa need a race car.

It’s a disease. Guys see dyno numbers for an engine similar to theirs and think it’s the same. I was guilty of this at one time. I’d see a 360 on here that was .30 over with stock heads and a similar cam/intake/carburetor and think mine made the same power. The time slips and dyno print outs...

Do I need to adjust valves with hyd. lifters?

This one hasn’t seen too much abuse besides on the dyno but I think you are right. Now I just need to learn how to do it.

Do I need to adjust valves with hyd. lifters?

I do have adjustable rockers. Motor is 3 years old.

Do I need to adjust valves with hyd. lifters?

I’ve noticed a little noise coming from the top end of my motor. Haven’t had time to pull the valve covers off yet. I’ve always read that hydraulic lifters don’t require you to adjust valves unless one of the rocker arms was taken apart. Is this true?

    Should I be worried?

That engine this post was about ended up being smoked. Main bearings were trashed and the crank needed to be turned because of it. Onto a new engine now though and it’s humming right along.
