Tti headers with cheap Jones muffler.

360 la headers & straight pipe

I have some love them. I don’t really care too much for the look at me stuff. So I keep them closed in parking lots or in my neighborhood. But I love the sound of my engine with them open.

    header delima...

I fought cheap headers for 10 years with constant leaks and dents for clearance. Went to TTI and haven’t touched them since I installed them.

Do you know which ones they are?

Possibly 3” but yes 2.5” as well.

    Jones muffler

Is anyone running a Jones muffler? I am looking at the full boar or Max flow units and am having trouble deciding.

    Headers!

Ran cheap hookers for 10 years. The bottoms were completely flat from hitting the road and they leaked from day one. Two separate exhaust shops tried to stop it from leaking and I threw every gasket known to man on the engine and they still leaked...even after using different heads. Now I...

Not trying to hijack the thread but can these kits easily be installed without a welder?

1970 duster with electric cut outs?

I was always told that with the TTI headers you do not need the oil filter adapter. I can not speak to the cut outs on an x pipe though.

Someone school me on header size.

Hydraulic roller. Duration is 235/249 at .050” lift. Lift is .522/.509 with a 107 Lsa.

    I went with the tti headers. 1 5/8 stepped to 1 3/4

    Anyone ever try exhaust cutouts?

They are sitting on the floor next to my bed still haha The car doesn’t have an engine so I’m not in a hurry to get the cut outs on. My dad has a set on his mustang and they have helped up great after about 3 years.

    Anyone ever try exhaust cutouts?

This is always a controversial subject for some reason. You will get a lot of people bashing them but I love mine. I have been running the old school cut outs for a few years now and I typically leave them off unless I’m going for a long drive. If you are young then crawling under the car...

    Antifreeze leak on header flange

Is it a good idea to use Teflon tape on that? I’ve always been worried about that so I never did it.

Do I need to do any welding on tti headers?

Apparently I didn’t understand what a slip joint was. I thought welding was required or else you would have a major leak. My mistake.

    My cam is a roller.

Do I need to do any welding on tti headers?

I got a set of TTI headers for my small block swinger. It will be going on the dyno shortly and wanted to use the TTI's during the test. Would it be wise to use a different set or will I be able to install the headers with the slip tube welded up?

    Dougs 453 headers with 727?

Good looking engine! I got tti headers on the way though!

    Ceramic coating

I was literally about to call TTI to order a set of their ceramic headers when I saw this. Give them a call and let me know how they treat you.

Then that sorts it out. I couldn’t find anything else that was 1 3/4”

Someone school me on header size.

There are plenty more on this forum that have been around along time and whose work I have seen go from trash to amazing on here. I would trust many members here to work on my car which says a lot considering this is the first time someone else has touched it in 13 years. I wanted to let the...

Someone school me on header size.

How do I go to battle with a well known mopar engine builder over this? “Hey man I know you have built thousands of wallet winning engines over the year and dyno tested countless small blocks but my buddies online say to use a different set”

Someone school me on header size.

Thanks for all the input. I can not find a single 1 3/4 header for an abody. Everything is either 1 5/8” stepped to 1 3/4” or 1 7/8”. Am I missing something

Someone school me on header size.

i just spoke with a very reputable engine builder about headers for my 360. It is a .30 over 360 with flat tops, undetermined cam, performer rpm intake and Holley 750 dp. The builder says if I go smaller than a 1 3/4” header I will be hurting the optimal power output. It looks like TTI makes...

    Cut outs

My dad has a set on his mustang. He drives it a lot on long road trips so it is very nice while cruising down the interstate to have them closed and not much noise. Then when we get off the interstate and cruise around town he opens them up. I have had cut outs on my dart for a few years...

    Dougs 453 headers with 727?

I was about to pull the trigger on some Dougs when I saw a line that says “will not fit with 727”. Also the last year listed is 72. I know others have those headers with a 727 so unless they changed it should not be an issue? Does anyone know of any changes that happened. My car is a 73 swing...
