I messed up the adjustment on my kickdown band adjustment. Now I get slipping when I kickdown frm 3 to 2. Does that mean the adjustment screw is too far in or out?

i pulled the drive shaft and spun the rear a couple weeks ago. Everything feels really good there. Spins free, just an ever so slight play or backlash. I am just concerned why would a new seal go bad. What would stop it from going bad again.

hey thanks.....I have 26" tire with 3.55. I used my GPS and determined that I was 13.3 % high. I pulled my gear and saw it was a 32 tooth. i took 32 X 1.13and got 36.16 so that is how I came up with it. Good to see it matched.

I know there is a 7 1/4 rear and an 8 3/4 rear. Is there such a thing as an 8 1/4? I have seen descriptions of 2 different cars for sale recently that say 8 1/4 rear.

i think i figured out the problem...the guy that built my motor was over tonight. The 727 I have came out of a pickup. The tailshaft case doesn't have the hole needed to bolt up the bracket. He says I have to swap tailshafts.

I replaced the 904 with a 727. I have a console shift. The bracket that mounted to the old 904 that held the rod in place on the console shifter doesn't see to work for the 727. There isn't anyplace to bolt it to the 727. (the 904 had 2 bolt holes) Do I need a different piece?

My engine builder tells me the trans dipstick off my old 904 won't fit the new 727 tranny. Is thatthe case? Where is the best place to get one if that is the case. $50 from summit for a chrome one sounds like alot to me for a dipstick.
