727 kickdown band adjustment

I messed up the adjustment on my kickdown band adjustment. Now I get slipping when I kickdown frm 3 to 2. Does that mean the adjustment screw is too far in or out?

Possibly too loose and not putting enough holding pressure on it. Also make sure you arent turning the adjustment screw as you tighten down the jamb-nut

Yeah I agree it sounds too loose. The adjustment is very critical and if you run it out of adjustment your asking for trouble. As in a roached trans. Get it fixed before you drive it or you'll be sorry. To adjust it properly torque it down to 72 inch lbs. then back it off 2-1/4 turns. Like Mike said make sure when you tighten the locknut your not turning the adjustment also.
