really kool. i hope you post pics of this when its installed and running lots of nice high tech dash conversions on this topic,, this is what i did to a 66 cuda dash back in 1995

i also had bumpers for my street rod re chromed at tri state in tenn,,,that wasnt a good experience,,it was based on cost and turn around time,,,

too many chrome shops do not maintain there chemicals in there tanks,, my ex borther in law and his family had a chrome shop,,,there stuff went down hill when the EPA got involved with moneriting there sewer lines and the way they disposed of there old chemicals,,,the cost to do it properly it...

i have 72 cuda buckets on my 1966 barracuda seat tracks,,,i dont remember its been many years,,,,but it couldnt of taken more then maybe just a new bolt location,,,was easy to modify

i like your infinity speaker idea,,,did you get them out at a junk yard or over the counter?? great idea,,, i made my own dual speaker mount to go where the stock AM speaker in the dash was years ago,,,, i have 2 small speakers there not great but way better then it was,,and 2 speaker boxes...

local stations advertise they are on HD,, they make it sound like you get a better or different selection of music from there non HD program,,,,i use sirius in my every day driver,,,,and ill keep it as long as i can,,,,great selection of music,,and no commericals,,,

there are several companies that make retro fitting radios with modern guts,,or hidden units with a remote,,seen several of them on my classic car,, do a google search,,

as stated remove the glove box insides,,unscrew the speedo cable from the back of the speedo,,drop the column, then unscrew and gently remove the dash gauge cluster,it wont come out competely unless you disconect all the wiring,,i dont recomend it,and maybe remove the in dash radio,, then get...

yes i also had to sand out the smaller holes,, i used a sanding drum on a drill worked great,, i dont know what you meen by metal orignal adapters,, do you meen from the after market gauges???

are the new tach and speedo 5 inch diameter ??? the middle holes in the dash are 5 inches and the 4 outer gauges are just over 2 inches

what did you use fro the back round ?? the engine turned pattern?? looks great

the faces on my gauges are silver,,,the car is black with silver pin stipe and silver old school steering wheel,,,that why i chooes the silver faced,

i think this is what he is going to do,,,,this is my dash,, in my 66 barracuda i did this in 1996 when building this car,,next im going to redo all the plastic dash trim,, looks custom and simple to do

i like what you did t othe 66 dash,,,cant you d othat to your correct dash ?? you could get better then the factory gauges in your 66 dash by doiing what you did and adding gauges the way i did,,

years ago,, i heard tooth paste was great for removing scratches on tube type T,V screens,, also,,sorta of topc,,,a product called soft scrub for bathrooms works better on your rockers to clean off road tar then bug and tar remover,,
