I switched to a newer 904 a few years back to get rid of two cable shift system in my 65 Dart. I went with a Promatic 2 and did some remodeling to make it fit in my factory floor console. It works well for me and looks good.

Sorry for slow response :( I cut the ashtray off on the bottom, when you lift my ashtray lid the shifter is right there. Good thing I don't smoke :)

I got 50 plus years also and could some parts replacement

I put a little silicone lube on it and put tip in bench vice. Started twisting and pulling and pulled right out, pretty tight though. Good luck

The last couple of times out in 65 Dart the steering wheel seems to be hanging up on the turn signal cam. I turn left or right it clicks very loud and does a minny hang up on the last click just before going straight. I've had the wheel and turn signal cam off a half dozen times and everything...

Well that explains it, MINE IS BROKEN!!!!!!!!!!! no threads at all on mine and a gap between housings. I guess I'll shop around see if I can find a new (old) one. thanks guys p.s. thanks for picture, that helps a lot

The lighter in my 65 Dart dash is loose. I've looked behind and there's nothing holding it tight to back side. What did they use? I'm thinking one of those kinda U shaped slightly curved spring clips would keep it snug. Any ideas, and where would I get a clip. Thanks

Put a Hurst Pro Matic in 65 Dart last winter when switching to a newer 904 to get rid of cable system. Did some modifying to get it to fit under stock console, I like the look in car.

I waiting for my Hurst ProMatic 2 to arrive later today, bought it for $99 on Ebay. 65 Dart console is shorter then later A-body consoles but we'll make it work. I like the look in MileHighDart with Hurst.

Have interior out of 65 Dart convert want to add some rear seat belts. Does anyone know where to drill for holes for belt location? Found a old post that there are dimples on floor in back apparently those are the drill points. If anyone knows better let me know, thanks

Thanks guys, I just ground it down then used vice grips. Got it all done and replaced the turn signal cam, hoping this will take care of my intermittent left brake light. thanks again

I need to replace the turn signal cam on my 64 Valiant. One of the 3 screws that holds ring on is stripped, I'm thinking of grinding it down so I can remove the ring then get a vice grip on it and back it out. Is this a bad idea, I need to get horn ring off somehow.
