    Is it worth it

Build a car that reflects your personality, who you are. A /6 Duster is a perfect starting point for a hot street car. Anything you do to it will make it worth more and more. Do what work you can yourself to keep the costs down and learn as you go. Enjoy the hobby and don't get caught up in the...

pros and cons of a 9 3/4 rearend

I'm running Super Stock springs, an Alston floater kit and SW ladder bars. The floater brackets have holes to adjust ride height. The springs have been moved in under the framerails with the relocation kit. This is a copy of the suspension in a car built by Herb McCandless in the early 70's. A...

pros and cons of a 9 3/4 rearend

I have one in my car. Custom width to get the wheels and tires to fit just right. Put it in and forget about it. I switched from an 8 3/4 back in 2002 and saw no change in E.T. from the added weight. Bullet proof. I have absolutely no regrets whatsoever and i must be in the minority because I...

    Saftey equipment for 10s ?

The stuff i posted was out of the 2005 IHRA rule book. I started posting it out of my head but didn't want to make a mistake and give false info. NHRA is the same for these times.

    Really Thinking About Something.

Boy Mike that is a tough one. Hold out as long as you possibly can before selling, maybe something good will happen between now and then. I was faced with medical issues a little over a year ago, and was in the same situation, wondering if i should sell or not. I didn't, and glad of it. I...

hey guys, opinions or advice PLEASE

I agree, A good simple six point will do. It sucks getting to the track and getting told you can't run. Now is the time to do it before paint. Not only will it be safer it will also make the car "work" better because it will be stiffer. With the combo you have there is a good chance you will...

Well I'm probably passing the point of no return now

It is not as hard as it seems. The lip on the wheel well has to be "rolled" on the inside and the front lip needs to be stretched to accomadate the larger tires. Assuming the springs are moved in under the framerails or removed altogether. Goodyear makes the best tires for my application because...

Well I'm probably passing the point of no return now

I don't hate you for cutting an original car that belongs to you and only you. My 74 Duster is an original 360 car that they only made 12-1300 or so of. I like it better the way it is. I don't blame you for doing this. How big a tire are you running now? I'm running ladder bars and leaf...

follow up to i have to!

Good numbers for the first time out. Glad you had fun. Caution, this is a highly addictive sport, the need for speed will consume you and control you. This of course is a good thing.

Im bogging on take off, any ideas.

It should be a thermoquad unless someone has replaced it. Besides the accelerator pump, the secondary air valve may be out of adjustment allowing it to open too soon. If it opens too soon you will get a bog.

Im bogging on take off, any ideas.

Sounds like the accelerator pump may need to be replaced. If you rebuild the carb. a new plunger will come with the kit. What year is the engine? I'm assuming you have either an AVS or a Thermoquad if it is stock. Either one I would look at the accelerator pump first.

    Im not an expert but......

I had someone ask me the other day if my Duster was an Olds. It says 440 on the rear Quarter. He saw that and said it must be an olds it has a 4 4 2 in it. :tard:
