I don’t think that front wheel will clear the outer tie rod. Depends on brakes, but I think a 17x8 with 5.5” backspacing is about as much as you can get on an A body in a 17.

Will these wheels/tires fit stock 69 Cuda springs

275 is pretty much max width in the back w/ stock pieces. You will have to test fit and measure. The last time the rear of my car was stock was 1993 so I'm not going to be much help!

Personally I was looking at the possibility of running Michelin PS2 345/30-19 on the rear of mine. What front tire size do you have? Never mind... found your older post: 275/35/18; I am planning on that or a 285/35-18. Got to get it running and driving before I spend money on wheels and tires!

The 215/70 is 25.9”, that is really pushing the limit. Turn your wheel out and see how much clearance you have at the front edge of the fender. The 225/70 is 26.5” tall.

Pro Tour guys. What tires r u runnin?

I’ll have to give this some thought for sure. I also have the added complexity of the Caltrac hardware. Sorry about hijacking your thread, khuebner250 and I are starting to go back and forth copying each other. Our cars are completely different but have many similarities.

I guess I should clarify. Mine is mini tubbed AND the springs are relocated. Outside: Inside:

Not even close. Mine is mini-tubbed, but maybe Barracuda has a little more room? About 1-1/2" on outside and 2" on inside. I used to run the 325/50 Drag radial tucked...

Mine is just a brute... I consider it a restomod maybe, not necessarily a Pro Touring car. Not sure what the distinction is. Do you have to have a modern engine to call it Pro Touring?

Currently I have 255/40-18 in the front on mine with 8mm spacers, there is easily room for the 275/35-18 on mine. The lip is rolled on the front and I modified the leading edge of the front fender. The '67-'69 Barracuda fender has a different shape than the Dart. I made a photo garage on the...

275/35-18 Front Fitment Question - Attn 72BB and GDart

Depends on the suspension and brake package. I have 18x9 35mm on my car. I have Dr. Diff's 13" brake package. That spaces it out farther than the '73-'76 spindle / brake combo so that needs more backspace to compensate. I think a 18x9.5 with a 40mm offset and a 1/8" spacer would work well on...

I will have the car home soon. Hopefully before the June 21st Birdville show. The show runs from 6-10pm. I will have to see if I can head that direction a little on the early side with a pair of tires in the back. Anything planned that day? 255/40-18 should be easy for you, haven't you...

Front Rubbing - Tires, Suspension or Wheels?

Looks good! If by the inside edge you mean the frame side a little tight there is OK. If you need to space it out a little you can. The other direction is a problem.

275/35-18 Front Fitment Question - Attn 72BB and GDart

I just remembered something, in January I also test fit a 18x9 with 5.95" backspace on my car with the 245/40-18 and the fender sat on the edge of the tire. With 3/16" less track width per side it still would not have cleared. For reference: Here is a picture of a '65 Barracuda (Max's car)...

Thanks, that was the idea. For a comparison, the picture above with the tape measure is with the wheel turned to the same angle as this picture where you can barely see the gap between the tire and the fender:

275/35-18 Front Fitment Question - Attn 72BB and GDart

72BBSwinger - "Those are wrong offset. You need 05+ Mustang. " 72BB is correct. These are 1994-2004 mustang fitment. The 22mm offset on the 18x10 may work in the rear, you will need to measure, it will depend on your axle. But 18x9 w/ 24mm is not going to work in the front. 18x10 w/ 22mm...
