    T10 to 440

Yea man, even if he's running small tires in a light weight car, using an adjustable clutch, or spinning alot off the line, chances are that 18 spline is on borrowed time with that monster hemi in front of it lol must be one fun ride though!:thumblef:

    T10 to 440

As far as I know, Liberty does not make "stronger gearsets" just different ratios. Ive called them and emailed them before trying to get my hands on the purple and red stripe stuff, no luck. All a crash box does is help high rpm shifting, does nothing for strength. I was talking from a strict...

and one more thing, people like Ronnie Sox didnt have any trouble because those transmissions were coming out after every race for repair/swap/freshen...if you didnt know that, then i really don't need to prove anything to you lol
  4. mshred

    T10 to 440

what proof are you looking for?:bball: you just don't get it do you...i said in modified form, a t-10 is stronger...you cant modify an 833 can you???? didnt think so:happy6: if you really want to know, talk to a fella named Don Pearon, he may be able to PROVE it you now stop busting...

    T10 to 440

both of them are strong transmissions...in stock form, id actually go A833 over a T-10...but there is no aftermarket stronger gearsets for 833's like there are for T-10's (atleast not that i know of, or id buy a set)
  6. mshred

    T10 to 440

in stock form, no But tell me where you can buy a strong aftermarket gearset for an 833. There is a fellow who builds T-10's to withstand 10sec. cars with aftermarket gearsets...i said a T-10 can be BUILT stronger than A833
  7. mshred

    T10 to 440

then try it...but i can tell you it probably wont, you'll need a conversion bellhousing from someone like quicktime or some other manufacturer
  8. mshred

    T10 to 440

T-10's can built to take a royal beating for much cheaper than any 833, and are even stronger in the end too I wouldnt hesitate to use one if i already had it

I don't know about you guys, but when i make big purchases, especially on one item, i have to take a deep breath and tell myself "holy crap, your actually doing this" LOL...its the shock factor of one item being this much...

  15. mshred

    t5 trans swap?

no hump with the t5, just a heated up and smashed floor to create some dimples for it fit up nicely
  16. mshred

    t5 trans swap?

no i wasnt beating on it, went for a 2 to 3 shift on the street and bye bye....ive never powershifted it either...only abuse it ever saw was dumping the clutch at 3500rpm off the two step...besides, ive already sold the bell, clutch, shifter, etc....im done with t5's LOL honestly man, it...

    t5 trans swap?

used, i would never buy a brand new t5, thats insane lol...it actually wasnt that hard to swap it in, required some slight fabbing, but it was worth it.. I had overdrive for a season and had maybe 500 bucks into the whole swap, so the way i look at it is once i fix it and sell it to an ingenius...
  18. mshred

    t5 trans swap?

yes i did, with lots of hours and work later...may not be worth it if you arent doing it yourself...the bellhousing itself is inherently the problem..the parts list isnt very big either transmission and shifter, handle and boot clutch (i got a ford one and drilled my flywheel for the ford...

    bellhousing/scattershield

thats good to know as i just picked up an ansen myself the flexing we are talking about though doesnt have to do with the engine or transmission, its the actual bellhousing where the starter mounts...you have to look at a picture of the quicktime bell to get an idea, but the pivot mounts to...

    bellhousing/scattershield

it dont make a difference what headers your using...im running hedmans and still had the problem with my quicktime...flexed way too much, and fabbing a bracket was a royal PAIN...the worst part is quicktime refuses to acknowledge the problem and has lied to those who ask about it...fits nice, is...

    hurst vertical gate

I agree with you Rick 100%...alot of guys dont know how to set stuff up properly with the right parts or how to drive for that matter, and then wonder how or why stuff breaks...I listened to a Herb McCandless seminar this summer and he provided alot of good tips for the 4 speed racing and such...

Im one of those guys....there's also a stickshift forum where a couple mopar guys there had the same problem... my next can will be anything but a quicktime as far as fitment though, they do fit nice

Could you or someone else elaborate on setting these up with the "pin method"....ive heard someone else mention this before, but unfortunatly i dont have the original instructions for my mr gasket vertigate and i need something to go by when trying to adjust it
