    It's possibel to do this,but the right way is to back the hole with a piece of copper and weld it up from the outside.

    It depends on what you want to build. If you dont want trim on the sides,weld up the holes.If you want the trim,dig through what you have and see what fits those holes and the car.

    No kidding huh? Lot's of overpriced stuff in the musclecar market. Torque boxes are an extreme example,thier so simplistic to make.

    I've never used anything but that trim tool. Used it for years and years in bodyshops,and yes if you are patient it help's a ton. Funny,but I never scratched trim not once. Good thing too,seeing how they were all customers cars!

    Napa carries Dupont,or at least that was what they were selling when I was in bodyshop's. Good stuff,no worries.

    I have rebuilt hinges in my truck,done by someone else,the wrong way,lol! Bushing's in upside down,no c clip's on the end of the pin's to keep em from falling out etc,etc. Typical G.M product. Run's good but the door's are falling off.

    Just a thought here. When I spray water base model paint,I use Isopropanol alcohol,the really pure sort. It carries the paint and flashes off quite quickly. Has anyone thought to experiment with some automotive water base to see if it would work?

    Heck,if that's all there is just wire brush the loose stuff off,apply por15 and forget about it. With my Dart,Im getting blasting in the spring and we will see what is left,lol..pretty bad but I can weld and hand form metal. My buddy Chris is blasting for media cost only,but even so media...

    Depends how much rust you have. In my case,the rust is almost everywhere,having lived in a B.C climate most of it's life. With you being in Cali I dont know if you would have much rust if anything. Another option is to not blast and simply use por15 over the rust.
