Yea I don't get why the woman ends up with the lions share in a divorce.Emasculating and dehumanising. If you earned it,and she kep't your house, sure paying a fair wage is reasonable, but certainly not this bankruptcy process we currently have.

    Bench racing

LSA of the cam plays a big role in idle quality. You need something more in the 114 degree range for a nicer idle. And less duration, maybe 235 ish..the parts all need to match each other and with a relatively low comression ration,it would mean a milder street oriented cam choice.

    318 to 440 dart.

Well said. People will always have another opinion, and disagree with you,try to change your mind. Im still gathering parts, and a big block Dart is my goal. It has been a long time, but so far I have stage VI max wedge aluminum heads,a 400 engine/727,a 440 crank,KB hyper pistons and a Dana 60...

    318 to 440 dart.

If it's a street car use the shumacher mounts. Race car I'd use engine plates.Mine will use the mounts, but I'll chain the drivers side down,as it will see track time.

    400 stroker

Ahh,I see. I had this same conversation with my engine builder. Grinding a good deal of the material off the weights yourself saves some money. I plan on offset grinding to acheive roughly 470 cid.I agree with you,the factory crank is a heavy pig,and must be drastically lightened but the good...

Just curious why you regret using the 3.75 crank? Expense, smaller stroke, both?

    400 stroker

Personally I think the 451/470 can be built a lot cheaper than that. Go with a stock forged 440 crank, have the mains ground to fit the 400 block, reuse the stock iron heads with good porting and a valve job and you'll be over 500 h.p and well over that in torque. crazy as it sounds,use...

Big block duster pain in the A$$

Lol I hear ya on dirt floor! I pulled my 400 block on the edge of a dirt cliff in my buddies yard using an engine hoist. It was made easier by laying down some spare sheets of plywood, and I had 2 guys for counterbalancing the engine hoist as it tried to twist and flop over. Fun! Well, not really...
