    I was talking to my buddy about 904s and 727s, this is a simple question that i just can't remember the answer to so I'm needing your help. A torque converter for a small block 904 will fit a small block 727 is this right. help me in my brain fart time thanks kevin.

    it's either a 1/2-9/16 wrench or a 3/8s ratchet, depending on the type of plug.

    OK, to get this out of the way, the B&M spring is 1.928 in diameter and the one that was in it was 1.828, so a hundred thou bigger than the one that was in it. The one in it was purple? maybe a transgo? I don't know. The instructions say to use the spring but it's too big. Guess I'm gonna call...

    I called and talked to another tech and he said i didn't need to replace that spring,, I'm at work now but when I get home I'm gonna read the instructions again and see what it said. I'm not sure of the diameter but I'll measure and get back to you when i get home. I'm still not completely sold...

    You know I'd agree also, but I talked to a tech at B&M and he said that some times they take a bit to seat. I just have a feeling somethings not right, I also asked if it might be a 727 spring but he said they were the same one.

    Has anyone ever had a problem installing the B&M rear servo spring in a 904? It seems a little too big to fit into the recessed area and also for the spring retaining cap. Do you force it in and make it work?

    i wouldn't do the lincoln locker, I did it once on a stock 318/904 trans with shift kit and I shot the spiders out the rear of the housing,,, ya might get lucky but not really worth the risk. Just my 2 cents

    hey to all the transmission gurus' has anyone heard of a 904 not going into reverse due to some small part breaking down on the transmission which can be easily replaced. I heard this from a guy at work and was wondering since I have one that won't go into reverse. I find it hard to believe...
