Here are a couple of threads where I've discussed the fit issues I've had. Ralley Trim Ring for 14x5.5 rim Need help on trim rings I'll send you a personal message in case you want to discuss a trade.

    Trim rings

Maybe yours are supposed to fit 14x5.5" rims? They are different. If your rings are too short to reach the center then maybe we can trade. I have 5.5" rims and I have trim rings that are too big for them (they stick out past the lip where the rim meets the tire).

    Argent or Black?

Black to make the black stripe pop.

    Need help on trim rings

That's a really nice fit (great-looking car too). Are your stock rims 5.5" or 6"? Do you happen to know the depth of your rings? I have some that are a little over 2 1/4" and they stick out by about 1/4" on my 5.5" rims.

    Need help on trim rings

Did you mean 205/70R14 tires? If the tires are 205/70R15 then the rims are also 15" and you'll need 15" trim rings.

Ralley Trim Ring for 14x5.5 rim

I'm reviving this thread because I'm having the same problem. I have factory 14x5.5" rims stamped with years 71 and 72. I don't know the vintage of the trim rings. In this picture you can see that the lip on the rim is less than 1/2" (as best I can measure, it's about 5/16"): but the...

    What are they worth?

Not exactly an answer to your question, but I just bought a set of 6 large bolt pattern Rallye wheels 14" x 5.5" with trim rings and acorn caps in decent driver condition for a total of $210. (Initially I bought 4 but one was bad so I had to get 2 more from a different seller--the $210 is the...

    LBP center caps

I haven't seen anything definitive on this, but I believe the round type were used through 1971 and then they switched to the acorn type for 1972?

Classic tire sizes vs. modern sizes

It's not true that you can't have disk brakes with 14" rims. If you use factory brake components or a similar kit, you can use the factory 14" rims. Some of the aftermarket kits do require 15" rims or larger, but for instance TheRamMan and DrDiff offer kits work with 14" rims. I assume any...

What do you think thease are worth

You don't say whether you have all the trim rings and center caps. I just bought a set of 4 of those same wheels (assuming yours are the 5.5" width) with trim rings and center caps from a FABO member for US$160. They were in rougher condition than yours and I didn't get any tires. It turned...

    Help, brothers!

On the FABO forums list, scroll down to the "Mopar for Sale ads" heading. There's a "Cars and Mopar Parts Wanted" forum where you can post an ad saying what you're looking for. Also, check out the "Tires and Wheels for Sale" forum.

    lug holes damaged--OK or not?

Well, I guess I'll see y'all over in the parts wanted forum. :-) At least I got all 4 trim rings and center caps.

    lug holes damaged--OK or not?

I just got my "new" LBP rallye rims and one of the rims has all five lug holes wallowed out to about 5/8". They will be going on 1/2" studs. Can I use this wheel on a daily driver?

14x5.5 what tire are you running

205/75R14 tires on 14x5.5" wheels. Each tire has a designated rim width range specification which you can find when you're shopping for tires. For example, the Hankook Optimo in my size has a rim width range of 5-7". If people are saying not to go wider than 195, they may be thinking of the...

    donor for 15x7 wheels?

Good info, and nice tip on the spare. My local parts yard says the early Dakota came with 15x6 as well. Right. I was just wondering if there's some kind of adapter you can use. If not, I'll have to 1) settle for dog dish caps, 2) use 14" wheels, or 3) try to find some aftermarket...

    donor for 15x7 wheels?

Switching to LBP, looking to swap to 15x7 wheels while I'm at it. Two questions: 1. What donor vehicles might have 15x7 steel wheels? I've heard Dodge pickup pre-1985 or M-body (though Allpar says M-bodies had 15x5.5 or 15x6). 2. Is it possible to keep my factory wheel covers (see my...

Thanks! Not too many choices for wheels there. Good site, though. I just spent way too long reading through it. :-)

    1974 wheel tightening spec's ?

The 1974 Dodge shop manual (Tightening Reference, Ch. 22) says 55 ft-lbs for car lines V and L with drum brakes. All other models get 65 ft-lbs--that includes V and L car lines with disk brakes as well as all other car lines.
