    sorry you said Clevite so here is the part# MS1266HGX full groove main or MS1051P but they don't show a .001 extra clearance bearing. Might have to call Clevite.

    Yes checking the clearances should be done but he should of checked also before he sent them out to make sure that way he could of ordered the correct bearings also for the mains. yes you can order a .001 extra clearance main but hope its enough. What brand of main bearing are you ordering?

    did u have the mains checked on the block and then checked the crank to see what they were? I would run .0028-.0035 on clearance. Make sure the rods are good to for clearance.

    I cut the stud down to clear the pump them machined the cap to use the washer and a 12 point nut for the main cap stud.

    I would go the Indy head route myself. I would get the heads CNC ported by Indy and have the valve job done by Brett Miller out of PA.

    I would run 9.7-10.0 comp run a hydraulic roller with 230-238 dur @.050 and I would run a dual plan intake for more TQ with a single plain you lose a lot of TQ at low rpm. with a hyd roller you have very low maint. and a very easy break in on the cam.

    The distance between the valves on a W8 head and a stock head is different but I cant remember what it is. but the smaller valve diameter on the stock head should be ok.

    first thing is to check all the lobes on the cam.any of the lifters show wear or are they shiny?I have never soaked lifters in oil over night most of them say not to anymore.there are 2 companies that make lifters for everyone one so if you buy a cam from summit or comp cams they are the same.

    I agree with you Kevin.I would run about a 5000 stall converter.when I ran my 425 W5 motor I ran a [email protected] roller .720 lift on a 108 ls and peak TQ was at 5200 and peak power was at 6600 and shifted at 6900 and ran a best of 9.77@138 at 3110lbs.

    You will not fix it cause of the 59* lifter angle that the SB Mopar has as to Chevy,Ford with a 48* and lifters are closer together than spread far apart.

    A 4.06 bore will make it a 440ci SB. you can run a 6.2 rod and a 1.25 CH piston. Any piston company can make you a piston.
